What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Markets Global Investment Banking is seeking an Associate to join its Real Estate investment banking team in Toronto.

RBC Capital Markets Real Estate Group is the largest dedicated real estate corporate finance group in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Montréal, Calgary, and New York. The Group’s capabilities span Equity and Debt Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Advisory & Valuation for public, private, corporate and government owners of real estate. Our highly experienced team works closely with the firm’s M&A, ECM, DCM, and Leveraged Finance professionals to advise clients.

What will you do?

• • Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of clients, including developing complex financial models
  • Support transaction structuring and execution efforts, with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability over time
  • Financial and written analysis of companies and industries
  • Contributing to the delivery of client meetings and presentations
  • Conducting research to analyze market trends
  • Researching and analyzing future opportunities
  • Contribute to the execution of equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory assignments

What do you need to succeed?

• Undergraduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a quantitative field from a leading university
• Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and financial theory
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• A high level of attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• Value and possess strong competency in the following behaviours: Collaboration, Relationship Building, Communication, Integrity and Operating with Diverse and Inclusive Mindset
• The ability to perform effectively in a team environment and excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines
• Well-rounded set of interests and extra-curricular activities beyond academics
• Desire to develop a leadership skillset and make meaningful contributions in a fast-paced, team environment
• CFA, CPA or other relevant professional designations are considered an asset, but not a requirement
• 3-4 years of investment banking, private equity, equity research, M&A / corporate development or accounting experience an asset, but not required

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$90,000.00 - $135,000.00
