As Shift Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store. You will be responsible for opening and closing the store, delegating responsibilities to staff, and ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed. Your excellent customer service skills will be put to use as you handle customer complaints and strive to create a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and follow all policies and procedures.

• Oversee day-to-day activities of subordinates and assign responsibilities.

• Train employees and provide ongoing support.

• Participate in and maintain required supervisory training and certifications.

• Work with customers to ensure satisfaction in areas such as quality, service, and problem resolution.

• Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures and make sure. that employees are doing that as well.

• Participate in regular safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.

• Maintain high standards for work areas and appearance.

• Communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.

• Accurately handle cash transactions.

• Ensure staff accountability to policies and procedures.

• Report any issues to Assistant Manager.

• Greeting and assisting customers: Welcoming customers, understanding their needs, and helping them find what they're looking for.

• Product knowledge: Being knowledgeable about the products in the store and providing helpful recommendations.

• Stocking shelves and maintaining displays: Ensuring that products are well stocked and organized.

• Keeping the store clean and tidy: Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, stockroom and customer and employee areas including restrooms.

• Assisting with merchandise resets: Helping to implement changes to the layout of the store.

• Performing tasks in service areas: Assisting with tasks like key cutting, paint mixing, and creating hydraulic hoses.(For Ag Retail center only)

• Participating in store meetings: Staying informed about store policies and procedures.

• basic understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.

• Basic Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.

• Cash Accountability, counting money at the beginning and end of shifts.

• All other tasks and duties assigned due to business needs.

Requirements:

• Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.

• 1 year of previous work experience in retail, convenience store environment.

• Current ServSafe certification preferred; ability to obtain and maintain certification after hire.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to multitask, be a self-starter, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Working Conditions: Work is generally performed in a retail/store setting.

• This employee has direct and frequent contact with customers.

• Tasks are performed in all areas inside and outside of the store and can include exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), vapors, fumes, high humidity, and household and commercial chemicals short periods routinely, with the possibility for longer periods.

• The noise level is generally moderate.

• Work can include long hours on all shifts, weekends and holidays, on-call availability.

• Occasional in kitchen work.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand for an entire shift/extended period of time.

• Walking for long distances.

• Use hands and fingers to handle and feel.

• Ability to reach with hands and arms.

• Occasionally required to sit.

• Bend, stoop, lift, shake, stir, pour, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• Must regularly lift and/or move 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Must be able to occasionally climb and descend ladders.
