Job Description:
The Maintenance team is responsible for assisting in determining proper corrective action to be taken with damaged or worn equipment based on the history of breakdowns and discussions with the operations team to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
With a global scale operation, we need our plants to run technically and economically efficiently. We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Supervisor who wants to manage a team of Electromechanical Specialists involved in completing repairs and PMI updates daily to ensure timely completion of work, reporting directly to the Facility Manager in Spain.
The successful candidate will be based in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Barcelona) and will provide maintenance support and coordination across our facilities in Barcelona and Madrid. In addition, this position assists in conducting facility inspections and identifying operational improvements needed to promote warehouse efficiency and ensure that health and safety procedures are respected.
What you’ll do
- Assists with overseeing the protection of physical assets, facility and equipment maintenance, and facility housekeeping.
- Organize and manage external contractors in carrying out ordinary and extraordinary on-site maintenance operations.
- Manage, supervise and effectively roll out UPS preventive and corrective maintenance plans through the maintenance application system, carrying out activities such as KPI definition, analysis, control and continuous improvement.
- Continuously improve our 360° maintenance activities by evaluating external contractors and identifying the best technical and cost-effective service providers.
- Innovatively update continuous improvement plans to advance predictive and preventive maintenance processes.
- Coordinate all facility management activities affecting the management of our main buildings and related services.
- Provide maintenance oversight and support for operations in both Barcelona and Madrid facilities, ensuring consistency of maintenance standards and compliance across sites.
- Communicate assigned work status to colleagues to determine potential impact on the department's schedule.
- Assist with maintaining environmental compliance in accordance with UPS environmental programs (e.g., Storm Water, Clean Air, Hazardous Materials, etc.) to promote the environment and the health and safety of UPS employees and the surrounding community.
- Deliver required regulatory training (e.g., Lockout Training, HazMat Training) to Maintenance and non-Maintenance personnel as directed.
- Manage documentation, SOP editing and record review.

What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or similar STEM studies).
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within complex production environments operating under GDP, GMP and advanced quality systems.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading internal and external maintenance teams and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong technical knowledge in areas such as low-voltage electricity, industrial refrigeration systems with fluorinated gases, mechanics, electromechanics, HVAC systems, automation and related disciplines.
- Experience with CMMS/GMAO systems and a fluorinated gas handler license are preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Good oral and written English communication skills (minimum B2 level).
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Availability to travel regularly between Barcelona and Madrid sites as required.
