Description
Essential Functions:
*Supervise the duties of the EHS Technician, EHS Specialist and/or Sr. EHS Specialist.
*Frequently drive/travel to job sites for auditing and inspections.
*Meet and work with customers and their safety requirements.
*Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
*Frequently inspect and evaluate work environments, equipment, and practices in order to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and government regulations.
*Frequently investigate and document safety and claim related incidents.
*Provide subject matter expertise regarding local, state and federal regulations and best practices.
*Identify, develop, coordinate and conduct safety training.
*Frequently work outside, including working in inclement weather conditions.
*Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
*Frequently work more than 40 hours per week.
*Occasionally work non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays, and Sundays.
*Travel and/or drive to trainings, meetings, & events, etc.
*Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Knowledge and Abilities:
*Detailed knowledge of OSHA Construction and General Industry Regulations.
*Detailed knowledge of MSHA Regulations.
*Detailed knowledge of Behavior Based Safety Management Systems.
*Detailed knowledge of Incident Investigations.
*Working knowledge of NRC Regulations.
*Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to:
*Learn and follow GOH company policies and procedures.
*Be flexible in the implementation of company policy and procedures.
*Work with little or no supervision and direction.
*Work with others to have limited to varying educational backgrounds in management and labor positions.
*Coach, train and motivate employees.
*Locate and travel to job sites.
Qualifications:
*Must have a valid driver's license for the state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
*Prefer OSHA Authorized 10 and 30 Hour Instructor.
*Must have strong written / verbal communication, excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Education:
*Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Management, or Safety required.
Experience:
*A minimum of 10 years with OSHA, MSHA, or Environmental safety.
*A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Required Training:
*OSHA #510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry
*OSHA #511 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry
*CPR / First Aid Certification.
*Leadership and Management Training
*Must attend continuing education seminars, meetings, etc. that pertain to health and safety to ensure GOH is up to date and in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Physical Requirements:
*Constant (67-100%) Lift and/or transport items weighing less than 30 pounds from one location to another throughout shift.
* Constant (67-100%) Talk and hear in conversations with customers.
* Constant (67-100%) Sit for sustained periods of time.
* Constant (67-100%) Able to see and read PC screens, read normal type size print.
* Frequent (34-66%) Use/operate basic office equipment such as phones, computer, file cabinets, copier, etc.

*Frequent (34-66%) Bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing.
* Frequent (34-66%) Work in field or plant environment with exposure to adverse or extreme weather conditions, exhaust fumes, noise, dust, extreme temperatures.
* Frequent (34-66%) Wear required personal protective equipment.
* Frequent (34-66%) Walk and work on uneven terrain.
*Frequent (34-66%) Navigate plant/mine sits and their hazardous terrain to travel to/from/between buildings.
* Occasional (0-33%) Sit in vehicle for sustained periods of time.
