Shift Pattern – MFTS Valley Shift:

Early shift: Monday - Friday, 0700 – 1530 with 30min unpaid break

Winter Late Shift: Monday - Friday, 1100 – 1930 with 30min unpaid break

Summer Late Shift: Monday - Friday, 1200 – 2030 with 30min unpaid break

The Opportunity 

UK CAA B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer at RAF Valley, Anglesey.

Reporting to the Valley Maintenance Manager, to support the MFTS operation.

• Responsible for the delivery of serviceable aircraft to meet the requirements of the daily flying programme.
• Ensuring compliance with Aviation regulations and Company procedures.
• Accomplishment of Maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
• Complete maintenance to a high standard to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
• Completion of maintenance, including electrical systems and avionics systems.
• Supervision of maintenance fitters and the certification of their work.
• Assist in day to day running of the Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

Knowledge and Skills

• Working knowledge of UK CAA regulations including, but not limited to Part 145, Part CAMO and UK ANO
• Thorough knowledge of electrical and avionics systems
• Experience in an Aviation engineering environment
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Self-motivated and ability to work under own initiative
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills
• Flexible to the requirements of the company and needs of the customer
• Operational resilience and collaborative problem-solving

Fitter-to-LAE Pathway

Aircraft Avionics Technicians who are studying towards their UK CAA Part 66 B2 Licence who have completed at least 6 modules and have more than 3 years’ experience documented in their experience logbooks are also encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the AHUK Fitter to LAE Development scheme.

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential

• Valid UK CAA Part 66 B2 Licence
• Preferably with one of the following type ratings, but not essential:
• Airbus EC135 T3H
• Airbus BK117 D2

Additional requirements

• This position is subject to National Security Vetting. Candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance, which generally requires having lived in the UK for the last five years. All successful applicants will also undergo a mandatory BPSS check. 
• Applicants must meet any/all requirements of Export Compliance Regulations.
• All candidates must possess the current, legal right to work in the United Kingdom. Airbus will not be able to offer sponsorship for any employment Visa's.
• Although this role is primarily based at RAF Shawbury, on rare occasions there may be a requirement to work at other sites.
