Job Overview

LAMB is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Coordinator of Student Success & Wellness to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success of students while fostering a safe, equitable, and inclusive school community. The Coordinator of Student Success & Wellness serves as a member of the Student Support Team, partnering with school leaders, staff, students, families, and community partners to ensure every student has equitable access to the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and community supports needed to thrive.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to connect students with outside services and resources.
  • Build collaborative relationships with families to support student wellbeing.
  • Coordinate referrals to community-based organizations.
  • Collaborate with school staff to promote trauma-informed, restorative, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of services.

Lead Attendance Improvement efforts through family outreach and intervention planning

  • Lead MTSS-Aligned Attendance Strategies: Monitor attendance data to identify patterns of chronic absenteeism and implement proactive, schoolwide campaigns and targeted interventions that remove barriers to student engagement.
  • Drive Family Engagement & Support: Conduct targeted family outreach to build home-school partnerships, develop collaborative attendance plans, and connect families with essential community resources (transportation, healthcare, mental health).
  • Ensure Compliance & Track Outcomes: Document all interventions, outreach, and student progress to monitor strategy effectiveness while maintaining full compliance with District of Columbia attendance laws and reporting requirements.

Lead LAMB’s Comprehensive Anti-Bullying Program

  • Oversee Schoolwide Prevention & Data Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive bullying prevention programming, analyzing climate and behavioral data to identify trends and implement proactive prevention strategies.
  • Manage Incidents & OSSE Compliance: Serve as the primary liaison to OSSE, leading timely investigations, documentation, and resolution of bullying, harassment, and retaliation incidents in strict alignment with D.C. policies.
  • Build Capacity & Partner with Families: Deliver professional learning for staff and families on prevention and reporting while partnering directly with parents to resolve concerns and foster positive student relationships.

Serve as a liaison between families and outside agencies

  • Drive Family & Community Partnerships: Build trusting relationships with families and foster collaborative partnerships with community agencies, mental health providers, and support services to advance students' academic and social-emotional success.
  • Guide Navigation & Referrals: Coordinate targeted service referrals and provide hands-on technical assistance to help families solve problems, navigate school processes, and access critical community resources.
  • Maintain Confidential Documentation: Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential record-keeping of all family communications, service referrals, and intervention outcomes in compliance with student privacy standards.

District Agency Leadership & Compliance Liaison

  • Serve as Primary Interagency Liaison: Represent the school as the primary point of contact for the D.C. Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) and as the OSSE Homeless Liaison under the McKinney-Vento Act.
  • Lead Staff Training & Mandated Reporting: Deliver annual training on child abuse recognition, CFSA protocols, and McKinney-Vento rights, providing ongoing consultation to guide staff through mandated reporting procedures.
  • Oversee Confidential Record-Keeping: Maintain precise, highly confidential records of child welfare concerns, CFSA communications, and support services in strict compliance with legal and policy standards.

Title IX Coordination & Compliance

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance & Process Integrity: Oversee compliance with Title IX and D.C. regulations, directing prompt, equitable, and trauma-informed complaint responses and investigations in consultation with leadership and legal counsel.
  • Deliver Training & Prevention Education: Coordinate annual compliance training for school staff and implement age-appropriate prevention education initiatives for students.
  • Maintain Record Confidentiality: Manage secure, highly confidential documentation of all Title IX reports, investigations, and institutional responses in alignment with legal standards.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Contribute to schoolwide initiatives that advance equity, inclusion, student belonging, and positive school climate.
  • Assist with arrival, dismissal, lunch/recess supervision, and other school responsibilities as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional learning, and school events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of two years of experience providing school-based work, counseling, or student support services.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, restorative, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Minimum of two years experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and community agencies.
  • Experience supporting attendance improvement initiatives and family engagement.
  • General knowledge of mandated reporting requirements and experience collaborating with child welfare agencies (e.g., CFSA or Child Protective Services).
  • Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
