Overview

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Direct Mail & Email Marketing leads the planning, execution, and performance management of our direct mail, shared mail, and email marketing channels. This role translates channel strategy into disciplined monthly campaign plans, ensuring initiatives are delivered accurately, on time, within budget, and aligned with performance goals.

Serving as the primary point of coordination across Field Operations, Finance, Analytics, Creative, Technology, and external vendors, this leader balances business needs with budget, capacity, and channel priorities. The Senior Manager also leads the Email Marketing Manager, providing direction, coaching, and workload oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of direct mail and shared mail campaigns, including planning, segmentation, creative coordination, proofing, list management, production, and deployment.
• Develop and manage monthly campaign calendars, timelines, budgets, and production workflows.
• Monitor response rates, marketing cost ratio (MCR), bookable demand, and other channel KPIs to identify opportunities and recommend adjustments.
• Oversee email marketing priorities and ensure alignment across print and digital outreach.
• Prevent audience overlap, conflicting messages, and timing issues across channels.
• Partner with Field Operations and cross-functional teams to manage requests, communicate expectations, and resolve execution risks.
• Manage agency and vendor relationships, including pricing, production timelines, quality standards, and performance accountability.
• Forecast and track channel budgets, approve invoices, and proactively address potential overages or performance concerns.
• Maintain structured intake, documentation, approval, and governance processes.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Email Marketing Manager while providing clear priorities and performance feedback.
• Use AI-enabled tools to improve planning, messaging, documentation, and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing direct mail, shared mail, and performance-based marketing campaigns, preferably within a multi-location or service-based organization.
• Hands-on experience managing end-to-end campaign production cycles, including creative review, proofing, list management, vendor coordination, and deployment.
• Strong understanding of direct mail segmentation, personalization, testing, response tracking, and postal optimization.
• Experience using campaign performance data to guide targeting, testing, and tactical decisions.
• Proven experience managing budgets, invoices, vendor pricing, and cost controls.
• Experience leading or managing individual contributors, including prioritization, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Working knowledge of email marketing or marketing automation platforms such as Braze. Ability to oversee channel alignment and prioritization without direct technical ownership.
• Ability to manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders while maintaining accuracy, organization, and clear documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365; experience with project management platforms such as Asana, Adobe proofing tools, invoice systems, and vendor portals is preferred.
