A day in the life

The Tax Manager supports Prologis’ Corporate Tax Department with a focus on U.S. domestic tax matters, including federal, state, and local tax compliance, tax research, taxable income forecasting, international tax, and REIT testing. This role reviews tax filings, quarterly projections, REIT tests, and tax-related financial reporting work to support accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting. The Tax Manager also conducts technical tax research and supports modeling of tax liabilities and credits. The role works closely with cross-functional teams globally and with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Key responsibilities include:

•   Review partnership, corporate, and REIT tax returns to support complete and timely federal, state, and local filings.

•   Review quarterly tax projections and support estimated tax payment calculations.

•   Review quarterly REIT qualification tests.

•   Conduct tax research and prepare or review technical tax memoranda for internal and external stakeholders.

•   Model tax liabilities, including applicable tax credits, for corporate taxpayers.

•   Review GAAP financial statements and support the preparation or review of deferred tax workpapers, financial statement disclosures, and footnotes.

•   Monitor tax attributes, tax contingencies, and valuation allowances to support compliance with applicable financial reporting requirements.

 

Building blocks for success

Required:

•   6+ years of public accounting experience.

•   Experience with partnership taxation.

•   Experience with corporate income taxation.

•   Ability to perform detailed accounting and tax analysis accurately.

•   Ability to research and evaluate technical tax matters.

•   Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

•   Strong organizational skills.

 

Preferred:

•   Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

•   Master of Science in Taxation (MST) and/or CPA.

•   Experience with real estate partnership taxation and/or REITs.

•   Big Four public accounting experience.

•   Experience using Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio in a professional environment.

•   Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.

 

Hiring Salary Range of: $124,000.00 - $155,000.00. Salary to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
