Job Description
About the Department/Team:
The candidate will be joining the FICC (Fixed Income, Currency, Commodity) trading team. The team is responsible for trading a range of over-the-counter and exchange-listed financial instruments on behalf of Invesco’s global investment teams
About the Role:
The junior trading role will primarily focus on the best execution of trades across multiple product areas, including FX, equity derivatives, and commodity derivatives. The initial focus will be on FX funding and repatriation trading that is required for global equity trading flows, as well as the daily equity-linked-note (ELN) and FLEX option trading. Longer term, the candidate will have the opportunity to learn and trade other products under the Invesco FICC umbrella.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Primary responsibility will be the best execution of trades across multiple product areas, including FX, equity derivatives, and commodity derivatives.
Liaise with operations, risk, compliance, and legal departments to ensure smooth trade execution and settlement, comply with the firm’s compliance framework and ensuring adherence to local regulations.
Cultivate relationships with counterparties in support of the firm’s access to liquidity and investment idea flow. This may include attending meetings, some of which may be after normal business hours, with counterparties and other industry representatives, for the purpose of developing appropriate industry contacts and relationships.
Assist portfolio managers in monitoring and analyzing portfolio positions and potential trades.
Maintain awareness of developments in market structure, liquidity, regulations, and trading technology.
Assist in the automation of and prepare performance related reports, utilizing market and execution data to provide value-add transaction cost analysis.
Requirements for the Role:
College degree, with a finance or quant focus being a plus, but not a requirement.
Trading experience, and/or familiarity with Aladdin or Charles River is a plus, but not a requirement.
Strong interest in financial markets is a priority.
Organized and detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and maintain focus during periods of heighted trading activity
