The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a HR Manager, Rewards & Policy to lead and coordinate rewards programs, policy development and governance, and regulatory compliance initiatives within HR Operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.

This position is based in the Washington, DC area and is available to be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Vice President, HR Operations and requires current authorization to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, now or in the future. 

Responsibilities

Strategic and Operational Leadership

  • Partner directly with the VP, HR Operations on the design and evaluation of compensation and mobility programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives;

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on the U.S. regulatory environment for employment law and collaborates across regions and functions to ensure adherence to international laws and regulations;

  • Lead the development and facilitation of training for programs and initiatives within areas of responsibility;

  • Manage complex operational matters and establish systems and processes for prompt issue identification and resolution (i.e. job architecture governance, immigration, etc.);

  • Design and establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to conduct program evaluations and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency, conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective action.

Relationship Management

  • Provide day-to-day consultative services to a wide-ranging audience on HR Operations programs, initiatives, and services;

  • Partner with functional, regional, and country HR leaders on the administration of programs, inclusive of training needs identification and program gaps;

  • Work closely with HR Operations team leaders to stay abreast of program delivery timelines and opportunities for engagement;

  • Establish cross-organizational touchpoints with partners in Global Finance, Global Risk & Legal, and Global Technology Services to serve as a conduit between GPS and the Operations Council;

  • Effectively manage vendor relationships.

Team Leadership

  • Direct management and leadership of a two-person team;

  • Establish performance metrics, coaching, and development opportunities for team;

  • Support team in prioritization and management of workload;

  • Lead and/or advise cross functional teams on initiatives; and

  • Participation in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or related discipline;

  • Seven years’ experience leading/managing rewards programs, and leading/managing regulatory or compliance programs;

  • Exceptional data analysis skills;

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. employment law and regulation;

  • Proficient with Workday HCM or similar HRIS;

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite;

  • Familiarity with market analysis tools; and

  • Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed.

What is a statement of faith? A statement of faith should describe your Christian faith and how you see it as relevant to your involvement with IJM.
