Position Summary                                                                        

The Digital Content and Social Media Creator serves as a digital storyteller and brand ambassador for the College, responsible for increasing Le Moyne’s visibility, fostering institutional pride, and engaging a diverse community of prospective and current students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends. Operating in an energetic, hands-on capacity, the successful candidate will primarily serve as the lead content producer for the College's primary social channels, executing digital campaigns in alignment with overarching departmental strategy. This individual will conceive, shoot, edit, and publish high-impact multimedia content while actively monitoring community interactions and utilizing data-driven insights to optimize reach. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an adaptable, highly creative, and collaborative professional to build on our strong regional reputation and further expand the College's reach.

Principal Duties and Essential Functions

Job duties specific to this position:

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Develops and executes creative content that aligns with designated monthly campaign themes, driving prospective student engagement throughout key stages of the enrollment lifecycle.

  • Plan, script, shoot, edit, and publish high-quality, engaging content across all official, central Le Moyne channels (i.e., Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, YouTube)

  • Gather, capture, and synthesize a wide range of digital media (i.e. photography, news links, quotes, event registration, etc.) into cohesive and impactful content tailored for various platforms and audiences.

  • Leverage content for use on the College’s primary website including feature stories, student spotlights, event recaps, and rich media assets—that are fresh, informative, and aligned with marketing goals.

  • Capture daily campus life, academic achievements, student stories, athletics, and special events in real-time.

  • Comfortably collaborate with students, faculty, and staff.

  • Maintain a cohesive visual identity and authentic brand voice that resonates with prospective students, current students, alumni, the local community, and other constituents.

Channel & Community Management

  • Manage daily social media publishing schedules and content calendars.

  • Actively monitor channels to cultivate two-way conversation—responding to comments, direct messages, and brand mentions with warmth, enthusiasm, and accuracy.

  • Serve as the eyes and ears of the college online, fostering a positive, safe, and vibrant online community.

  • Coordinates content reviews and approval workflows, ensuring all assets are vetted prior to publishing

Cross-Campus Collaboration

  • Partner proactively with departments across campus to amplify major initiatives and campus stories.

  • Help recruit student workers and coordinate student-created content.

  • Serve as a friendly, approachable liaison who builds trust across every department.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Translate data insights into actionable strategies to continuously boost engagement and organic reach.

  • Monitor monthly performance recaps and optimize content accordingly.

  • Engages in a planned program of professional development. Continually maintains skills and knowledge relative to the position and technology industry including best practice, evolving operational requirements, and industry trends.

  • Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • 2–4+ years of professional social media management experience

  • Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end—from initial idea to filming, editing, posting, and measuring—without needing a large production team.

  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and optimism. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where news happens fast and priorities shift.

  • Highly approachable, friendly, and outgoing. Equally comfortable walking up to students on campus or collaborating with senior administrators.

  • Expert knowledge of native platform tools (TikTok, IG Reels), capcut/short-form video editing apps, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, social scheduling/analytics tools (i.e., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar), and basic experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) for web updates (i.e., WordPress, Cascade, or similar).

  • Comfortable appearing on camera, hosting quick Q&As, or leading video interviews when the content calls for it.

    Pay Range:  $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
