Billing Specialist

About the role:

We're looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to own the end-to-end billing process on our Revenue team. Reporting to the Revenue Manager, you'll keep invoicing accurate, payments collected, and accounts reconciled, with Stripe at the center of your day. You'll manage recurring billing, refunds, disputes, and payment gateway operations, and help automate the process as you go.

What you'll do:

• Own the end-to-end billing process, auditing invoicing and credit memo runs for accuracy.
• Manage subscription billing in Stripe, including recurring payments, plans, discounts, and tax configurations.
• Reconcile transactions and payment records, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Handle Stripe issues like chargebacks, refunds, and failed payments, and partner with Engineering or Product on integrations.
• Own AR tasks like keeping the aging report clean and applying credit memos accurately.
• Update customer accounts for plan changes and keep customer data clean.
• Respond to billing questions promptly and partner with Customer Success on a great customer experience.
• Build billing and payment reports, spot process improvements, and use AI tools to automate review, reconciliation, and reporting.

About you:

• 2+ years as a Billing Specialist, AR Analyst, or similar role.
• Hands-on Stripe experience (dashboard, subscriptions, API tools).
• Familiarity with financial regulations and GAAP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (Workday a plus).
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Clear communicator with strong customer service instincts.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to automate or optimize your workflows.
• Bonus: SaaS or e-commerce experience, other payment gateways, and a Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.
