Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Hospital Supervisor RN, you will lead and exercise delegated administrative authority for supervising hospital personnel and functions, including patient care, in the Administrator's or Department Director's absence.Every day, you will act as the leader and resource, facilitating efficient operations and serving as an administrative representative knowledgeable about hospital policies. You have authority, after consultation, to suspend employees affecting patient care. This role primarily covers evening/night/weekend shifts when no Administrator/Director is on-site.
To be successful in this role, you will provide exceptional leadership, strong clinical nursing knowledge, superior decision-making under pressure, and a comprehensive understanding of hospital operations, policies, and emergency protocols.
- Assesses staffing to meet patient needs and coordinates the staffing plan to provide necessary shift coverage.
- Evaluates work load and adjusts staffing as needed to maintain high quality patient care with cost effectiveness.
- Coordinates timely patient placement by proactively planning for appropriate levels of care while maintaining patient safety and ensuring quality care.
- Promotes and maintains harmonious relationships among the personnel supervised, between departments, medical staff, patients and others. Keeps involved parties informed by communicating effectively and timely.
Job Requirements
Required
- One (1) year of acute care administrative RN experience or any equivalent combination of training or experience.
- Oregon RN License
- AHA BLS within 30 days
- ACLS within six (6) months
Preferred
- PALS
- NRP
- TNCC
