Associate Project Manager

Scope of Work:

• End-to-End Project Coordination – Manage the complete delivery lifecycle from order receipt through to project completion, ensuring seamless handoffs between sales, scheduling, order handling, and field teams. Maintain a clear overview of all active projects at every stage of delivery. 

• Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management – Serve as the primary point of coordination between internal teams (sales, operations, technical group) and external stakeholders (customers, field inspectors). Maintain clear, timely communication to keep all parties aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. 

• ViewPoint Data Utilisation & Reporting – Navigate ViewPoint to locate relevant project data, extract key information, and produce accurate reports for customers and internal stakeholders. The technical group retains ownership of system management; the APM is expected to use ViewPoint independently for routine reporting and status updates. 

•  Schedule Awareness & Resource Planning – Work closely with schedulers to understand resource availability, build realistic project timelines, and flag conflicts or constraints early. Translate scheduling realities into clear customer commitments and delivery plans. 

•  Order & Delivery Documentation – Review project specifications, safety manuals, work instructions, and customer deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with order handling teams to confirm compliance with customer and contractual requirements. 

•  Expectation & Risk Management – Identify potential delivery risks early, communicate realistic timelines to customers and internal teams, and escalate issues proactively. Manage customer expectations throughout the project, particularly when operational realities require plan adjustments. 

• Pull-Through Opportunity Identification – Recognise upsell and additional service opportunities during project execution — such as follow-up inspections, extended scope, or complementary services — and relay these to the sales team for pursuit, supporting revenue growth without compromising delivery focus. 

Key Expectations :

• Product & Industry Knowledge – Hold a solid understanding of infrared/ultrasound/health-check inspection services as well as other ABB EL Service offering, equipment capabilities, applicable industry standards, and the regulatory environment affecting delivery. Be able to speak credibly with customers and field staff about the work being performed. 

•  Operational Awareness – Understand the on-site realities of IR inspection work — including field challenges, site access constraints, weather dependencies, and logistics complexities — and use this knowledge to set achievable, honest expectations with customers and internal teams. 

•  Proactive Communication – Regularly update all stakeholders on project status, alert teams to emerging issues before they impact delivery, and escalate blockers immediately. Be the person who surfaces problems early rather than managing them reactively. 

• ViewPoint Literacy – Understand the structure and data held within ViewPoint well enough to retrieve relevant information independently and translate it into meaningful project updates and customer-facing reports, without requiring technical group support for routine reporting tasks. 

•  Reliability & Accountability – Own delivery outcomes. Follow through on commitments, take responsibility for coordinating solutions when issues arise, and be a dependable point of contact for both customers and internal teams. 

•  Flexibility & Problem-Solving – Adapt effectively to schedule changes, resource constraints, and evolving customer requirements. Propose practical solutions that balance customer needs with operational realities, keeping projects on track where possible. 

•  Collaboration – Build strong working relationships across all functions — schedulers, order handling, field staff, technical group, and sales — to facilitate smooth project execution and a cohesive team environment. 

•  Revenue Awareness – Maintain awareness of commercial opportunities throughout project delivery. Identify potential add-on or follow-up services and communicate these to the sales team, while keeping primary focus firmly on delivering current project commitments.
