Clarity Partners is seeking a Project Portfolio Analyst local to Chicago, IL. The Project Portfolio Analyst will establish, implement, and enhance best practices for IT project and portfolio management across the organization. This role will oversee project lifecycle standards, performance metrics, resource planning, and reporting to help ensure technology initiatives are delivered according to scope, schedule, and budget. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams. This position will report in an onsite setting.
Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve IT project and portfolio management best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Direct and manage projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial planning through implementation and post-project evaluation.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, resource estimates, and communication documents.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, budgets, resources, risks, and overall portfolio performance.
- Establish formal methodologies for defining and measuring project key performance indicators and allocating resources.
- Develop and deliver project status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, presentations, and executive-level updates.
- Proactively identify and manage changes in project scope, risks, issues, and potential challenges while developing appropriate contingency plans.
- Communicate project expectations, priorities, responsibilities, and timelines clearly to project teams and stakeholders.
- Determine the appropriate frequency and content of project status reporting, analyze results, and troubleshoot areas requiring corrective action.
- Conduct project postmortems and develop recommendations identifying successful project elements and opportunities for improvement.
- Estimate the resources and participants necessary to successfully achieve project objectives.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate project management tools.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors while promoting accountability for assigned work.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders and business partners that contribute to successful project delivery.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7 years of direct IT project management experience preferred, including experience with project planning, execution, process development, and stakeholder management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or other PMI certification preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing project management best practices, policies, procedures, methodologies, and governance processes.
- Strong knowledge of project portfolio management, resource planning, project performance measurement, and financial tracking.
- Experience working with project management and portfolio management platforms, including Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies and experience supporting complex technology initiatives.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and motivating project teams and technical resources.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with leadership, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, project risks, scope changes, and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with software development projects and technology-focused environments preferred.
- Experience within healthcare IT, hospital information systems, or similarly complex technology environments is a plus.
Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Project Portfolio Analyst, the base salary pay range is $150,000–$165,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
