Facilities Security
North - Onsite - Troy, MI
The Facilities Security is responsible for maintaining the security of people and/or property in assigned area(s) and will oversee facility security to protect all company assets. This position will act as point of contact for any emergency building issues and serve as backup for the facility technician. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to, assisting clients, customers, and visitors to and onsite, enforcing site regulations, reporting safety hazards, assisting with traffic control, etc.
What you'll do:
Assists with implementing security and security protocols for all assigned facilities and information systems.
Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors. Protects property and staff by maintaining safe and secure surroundings.
Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as inventory areas, network equipment areas, and employee files and confidential records.
Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities and surrounding properties.
Completes daily work assignments and/or projects; records completion of tasks.
Monitor and control access at building entrances and admit appropriate personnel and/or guests.
With management oversight, conducts investigations and prepares accurate and complete written reports.
Responds quickly and effectively to all emergency situations.
Maintains confidentiality of security information and ensures security of company assets
Acts as back up for maintenance and emergency response personnel.
Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager.
What we need from you:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of related security experience.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
Ability to traverse various areas of the facility to conduct inspections and plan security procedures.
Extensive knowledge of security protocol and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures.
Ability to work with confidential and classified information.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
