About the Family
We are a warm, energetic, and loving family of five relocating to Weston, Connecticut, as we begin an exciting new chapter in suburban life. Our family includes three active children, ages 8, 6, and 4. One parent works from home full-time while the other commutes into New York City several days a week, making our home the center of a busy schedule filled with school, after-school activities, and family life.
We're looking for someone to become a trusted part of our family's support system. We already have wonderful help from nearby family and a housekeeper, so this role is about thoughtfully filling the gaps—helping our home run smoothly, anticipating needs, and creating more space for us to enjoy time together. We value open communication, collaboration, and building long-term relationships, and we're hoping to find someone who truly enjoys becoming part of a family team. Our favorite caregivers have been those who naturally fit into our home, built meaningful relationships with our children, and brought a steady, positive presence each day.
Our home is happiest when it feels calm, organized, and connected. We appreciate someone who notices the little things before they become big things—keeping household essentials stocked, helping maintain organized spaces, staying ahead of family routines, and bringing a proactive, can-do attitude to each day. Our children are bright, active, and each wonderfully unique, so we're looking for someone who approaches them with patience, warmth, consistency, and a genuine desire to help our family thrive. We follow a kosher-style diet at home and do not prepare or serve pork or shellfish.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You are someone who genuinely enjoys supporting busy families and creating a calm, organized home where everyone can thrive. You enjoy engaging children through active play, creative projects, outdoor adventures, and age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and independence. You have a natural talent for organization and enjoy creating systems that help a household run smoothly. You take initiative without waiting to be asked, anticipating needs by staying ahead of household inventory, keeping shared spaces organized, resetting the kitchen, organizing school items, and ensuring the little details—from paper towels to pantry staples—never become last-minute problems. You are dependable, proactive, and take pride in making everyday family life feel more manageable.
Just as importantly, you value relationships. You're looking for more than a job—you enjoy becoming a trusted part of a family's support system. You communicate openly, work collaboratively, and bring a calm, positive presence into the home each day. You are patient, emotionally grounded and confident guiding children with warmth and calm leadership. You're open to learning the parenting approaches that work best for this family and enjoy partnering with parents to create consistency and connection.
The ideal candidate will also:
- Enjoy creating systems and maintaining an organized, well-functioning household.
- Build genuine, long-term relationships and become a trusted part of the family's team.
- Be patient, kind, and confident working with young children while remaining calm during challenging moments.
- Communicate clearly, reliably, and professionally.
- A strong commitment to maintaining a clean, comfortable home environment that supports children’s health and well-being, including thoughtful practices like regular handwashing.
