Global Key Responsibilities
Finance Transformation & Strategic Alignment
- Finance Strategy Mapping: Align global finance transformation goals (e.g., closing the books faster, working capital optimization, real-time profitability analysis) with standard SAP capabilities like S/4HANA Finance, Central Finance, and Group Reporting.
- Global Standardization: Enforce a global finance template strategy to standardise the global Chart of Accounts (CoA), cost structures, and ledger architectures while minimizing local customisations.
- Cross-Border Prioritization: Lead demand management for financial systems, balancing corporate finance transformation milestones against regional compliance requests.
Matrix Finance Stakeholder Management
- C-Suite Advisory Presence: Partner directly with executive financial leadership, including the Global CFO, Deputy CFO, Group Controllers, and Heads of Tax and Treasury, to shape technical strategy.
- Global Change Management: Drive global change leadership for financial professionals, navigating teams through the process shifts required by real-time accounting, automated reconciliations, and continuous close cycles.
- Fiscal Compliance Mediation: Mediate conflicting requirements between global finance uniformity and critical local statutory/fiscal regulations (e.g. e-invoicing mandates, localized payroll tax, and regional data residency laws).
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent. Professional certifications (e.g. SAP certifications) are highly advantageous.
- Years of Experience: 10+ years in IT business partnering, enterprise architecture, or leading global SAP transformation programs.
- Finance Transformation Track Record: Proven experience delivering at least two large-scale, multi-country SAP Finance Transformation programs
- Group Consolidation Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience designing or managing global financial consolidation systems utilizing SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) or SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting (GR) solutions.
Technical & Domain Expertise
- SAP Finance Portfolio: Deep architecture and functional understanding of SAP S/4HANA Finance (General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Cash Management) and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for finance extensions.
- Group Reporting and Consolidation: Robust technical fluency in automated intercompany reconciliations, matrix consolidations, currency translation rules, and multi-GAAP disclosures within SAP BPC or GR landscapes.
- Analytics & Performance Management: Strong familiarity with corporate performance management solutions, such as SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for financial planning and analysis (FP&A) integrated with group reporting engines.
- Global Fiscal Compliance: Robust knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and automated global tax compliance integration.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Financial Fluency: Ability to speak the language of finance fluently, seamlessly bridging the gap between technical IT architecture and complex accounting workflows.
- Strategic Influence: Strong negotiation skills to challenge legacy, manual finance practices and steer stakeholders toward automated, out-of-the-box SAP financial processes.
Global Performance Metrics (KPIs)
- Group Consolidation Acceleration: Measurable reduction in the time-to-close for global entity consolidations and corporate financial disclosures.
- Finance Process Efficiency: Measurable reduction in month-end close timelines and manual reconciliation hours post-SAP deployment.
- Template Adoption Rate: Percentage of standard SAP Finance capabilities used versus localized, custom financial reports or code.
- Finance Stakeholder Satisfaction: Satisfaction rating and alignment metrics from the Global CFO and regional finance leadership teams.
- Portfolio Delivery: On-time and within-budget delivery of global finance modernizations across all specified geographies.
