Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to drive complex feature enhancements, architecture improvements, and high-tier escalation resolution for our enterprise security product suite. In this role, you will balance core software engineering—designing cross-platform components, APIs, and distributed systems—with deep debugging and hotfix engineering for critical customer issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement new software components and new features that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget. 

• Utilize different programming languages to create cross-platform code (UNIX, Linux, Mac, and Windows platforms) that will run in physical (hardware) and virtual environments (Azure and AWS).

• Define communication interfaces between software components, implement new product APIs, and consume 3rd party interfaces in product software components. 

• Utilize network protocols and apply software clustering models to build distributed enterprise-grade software that can be deployed and synchronized in multiple datacenters across the globe. 

• Use Relational Databases (SQL) and Directories (LDAP). Design database tables and schemas to store product-specific information and integrate the product with customers' provided databases and LDAP directories. 

• Utilize modern UI frameworks for development of end-user-facing interfaces, web protocols, and REST APIs. 

• Work collaboratively within an Agile Team to write high-quality, testable code that meets the Definition of Done. 

• Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications. 

• Utilize unit testing frameworks to build unit tests. Implement end-to-end automation tests. 

• Provide information to technical writers and conduct training sessions on new modules or code changes to other members of the product cross-functional team. 

• Integrate new product features and tests into the continuous integration toolchain. 

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies. 

• Troubleshoot product issues, fix defects, and work closely with customers to drive platform quality. 

• Utilize debugging and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex configuration issues or product defects reported by the customers. 

• Work on recreating product issues in the lab environment and be able to troubleshoot issues in customer environments using remote tools. 

• Provide guidance and best practices on product deployment models and configurations. 

• Support regular cadence of product update releases such as service packs and produce individual hotfixes and code patches.

Skills Required

• Strong Java/J2EE programming (Java full-stack) skills with experience on enterprise-class applications

• Strong design, programming (C, C++, PHP, Perl, SQL, shell scripts), and debugging skills with experience on enterprise-class applications.

• Knowledge of Windows / Unix / Linux operating systems Internals and experience with cross-platform software development

• Very good at debugging multi-threaded, high-performance applications

• Ability to use AI tools effectively to improve efficiency and productivity

• Enterprise security domain knowledge and experience (authentication/authorization frameworks, security protocols, PKI, certificates, SSL, privileged access, and Identity use cases)

• Good communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.

Typically, 10+ years of experience in software development

AI Expertise & Methodology (What Makes You a Strong Fit)

• AI Integration: Expertise using AI code assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude) as force multipliers within your daily workflow.

• Spec-Driven Development: Hands-on experience with AI spec-driven frameworks (e.g., Plan/BMAD modes) to map out and execute the full SDLC.

• Agentic Workflows: Experience orchestrating multi-agent workflows for complex tasks like system upgrades, refactoring, and vulnerability patching.

• Quality Control: Proven ability to critically review AI-generated code for security, architectural alignment, and performance bottlenecks.
