Description
Catawba County Social Services is currently hiring for multiple Eligibility Specialist II positions in Medicaid. If you are a self-motivated, organized person who excels at multitasking in a fast-paced office setting, Catawba County Social Services wants you on our team.
Additional Information:- Salary is negotiable for applicants who are fully qualified. (1 year or more of Income Maintenance experience in Medicaid or Food and Nutrition Services eligibility)
- Applicants must possess 1 year of experience in income maintenance eligibility (IMC) in a Department of Social Services in order to be fully qualified. However, trainees may be accepted. Trainee pay is $44,366.96 per year.
- Determine eligibility for programs by interviewing clients, researching, verifying information, and gathering data from citizens applying for assistance
- Interpret State and Federal guidelines and determine how they apply to each individual situation
- Educate clients about program rules, change reporting requirements, and available services
- Process assistance applications accurately and efficiently while maintaining quality and timeliness
- Manage an ongoing caseload by completing eligibility re-determinations and responding to changes under strict deadlines
- Refer clients to other social services programs and community services
- Enter and manage information accurately within complex computer systems
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Business, or a closely related field and 1 year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; OR
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and 3 years of demonstrated experience with mathematical work and/or public contact involving interviewing, gathering, and compiling information, and 1 year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker
- Ability to self-initiate, with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and flexibility in working with diverse populations
- Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate complex software systems, including excellent typing and keyboarding skills
- Ability to learn and work quickly, combined with a strong desire to succeed
- Analytical skills to read, interpret, and apply complex rules and regulations
