AI Solutions Manager

Ergon Inc. is seeking an AI Solutions Manager to lead our applied AI delivery team within Information Technology. This role oversees full-stack developers and business analysts who create practical, generative AI-enabled tools and automations that address real business needs. Working closely with business leaders across Ergon, the AI Solutions Manager identifies high-value opportunities, translates business challenges into effective solutions, and guides delivery using established AI platforms such as Anthropic Claude and OpenAI/ChatGPT. The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership, hands-on software development experience, and the ability to make complex technology approachable.

AI Solutions Manager Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of full-stack developers and business analysts; manage priorities, workloads, one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and hiring as the team grows.
• Partner with business unit leaders to understand operational challenges, identify opportunities for AI and automation, and promote practical, high-impact use cases.
• Evaluate requests and recommend the right-sized approach, whether a prompt-based workflow, internal application, AI platform integration, process improvement, or non-AI solution.
• Oversee technical delivery of AI-enabled applications and automations, including prompt design, API integrations, chatbots, and end-user workflows built with Claude/Anthropic and OpenAI/ChatGPT.
• Provide technical guidance through code reviews, troubleshooting, and sound architectural decisions to help the team deliver maintainable solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with Ergon's data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices, including appropriate data handling, human review, and automation safeguards.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data & Analytics and Quality Assurance teams to integrate with existing data pipelines and support thorough testing before production release.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

AI Solutions Manager Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7-10 years of software or application development experience, including at least 3–5 years managing developers and/or analysts.
• Hands-on experience with large language model (LLM) platforms such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI/ChatGPT, including prompt engineering, API integration, chatbots, or workflow automation.
• Strong full stack development background, with the technical fluency to review code, guide implementation, and remove delivery obstacles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including leading discovery conversations and explaining technical trade-offs in clear, business-friendly language.

AI Solutions Manager Preferred Qualifications: 

• Exposure to Microsoft Power BI, Salesforce, or SAP.
• Experience supporting internal AI enablement, training, or adoption initiatives.
• Experience managing a blended team of developers and business analysts
