Overview

Build Your Engineering Career With Hands-On Impact

UE Manufacturing is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to support the development, design, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of electrical systems used in power equipment, rotating machinery, and industrial applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career electrical engineer who wants to move beyond theoretical design and gain hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, production assembly, testing, and field installation. You will work alongside experienced engineers, designers, production personnel, vendors, and internal customers while building your technical expertise.

Responsibilities

      What You'll Do

    • Support the design, development, analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of low- and medium-voltage electrical power equipment.
    • Assist with electrical systems involving engine-driven rotating machinery, AC/DC drives, and control systems.
    • Read, interpret, create, and revise electrical drawings, schematics, technical specifications, bills of material, and engineering reports.
    • Use CAD and other engineering software to support electrical product design and documentation.
    • Apply basic electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis and voltage-drop calculations.
    • Help select and evaluate electrical and electronic components for new product designs and obsolete-part replacements.
    • Support equipment installation, operation, maintenance, and repair reviews to verify compliance with design specifications.
    • Assist with product testing and research to evaluate equipment, component, and system feasibility and performance.
    • Partner with production assembly and test teams to identify and resolve manufacturing or performance issues.
    • Help prepare technical instructions for field modifications and testing requests.
    • Participate in product design reviews and provide technical information to senior engineering team members.
    • Collaborate professionally with vendors, internal customers, designers, engineers, and production personnel.
    • Follow applicable regulatory requirements, electrical codes, project schedules, safety practices, and company procedures.
    • Any and other job duties assigned.

Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:

  • An ABET-accredited Master of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline;
  • An ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 0+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience; or
  • An Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering with 0+ years of relevant electrical experience in an engineering environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of CAD, drafting tools, or applicable engineering design software.
  • Foundational understanding of electrical equations, circuit analysis, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, specification sheets, safety rules, operating manuals, maintenance manuals, and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, follow project deadlines, and carry out written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new engineering procedures, software, and systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Ability to complete and maintain required safety training and certifications.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% to customer or supplier locations.

What Will Help You Succeed

  • An interest in industrial electrical systems, power generation equipment, rotating machinery, controls, or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
  • A hands-on mindset and willingness to work in office, shop-floor, testing, and field environments.
  • The ability to take direction from senior engineers while developing greater technical independence.
  • A positive, collaborative, and safety-focused approach.
  • The confidence to communicate with engineers, production employees, vendors, customers, and other cross-functional partners.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position includes work in office, manufacturing-floor, and test-site environments. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally climb ladders, crawl underneath trailers, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The role may include occasional exposure to heat, cold, noise, mechanical or electrical conditions, fumes, and odors. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential responsibilities of the role.

Why Join Us?

You’ll have the opportunity to develop practical engineering experience while contributing to electrical products and systems used in demanding industrial applications. Working closely with experienced engineering and manufacturing professionals, you will gain exposure to the complete product lifecycle, from design and component selection through production, testing, troubleshooting, and field implementation.
