Your Impact

As an HSE Specialist, you will play a key role in advancing Pearce’s health, safety, and environmental objectives across Solar, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), UPS, Battery, Wind, and EV operations. This highly field-focused position will partner closely with operational teams to strengthen safety performance, with particular emphasis on electrical safety and driver safety.

You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE programs, conduct field audits, investigate incidents, identify safety risks, develop corrective actions, and provide training and coaching to employees and operational leaders. You will also help manage driver safety initiatives aimed at reducing vehicle-related incidents and improving safe-driving behaviors across the organization.

Success in this role requires a strong working knowledge of HSE regulations and electrical safety practices, the ability to influence employees and leaders at all levels, and a willingness to travel extensively to support field operations throughout the United States.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with HSE and Operations leadership to establish, monitor, and achieve safety objectives and performance metrics.

  • Promote a strong safety culture focused on zero harm, electrical safety, safe work practices, and vehicle incident prevention.

  • Coach operational leaders, managers, supervisors, and field technicians on HSE expectations, electrical safety standards, and driver safety practices.

  • Conduct field safety audits, inspections, and observations to evaluate compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.

  • Identify gaps in electrical safety, driver safety, and field HSE practices and develop corrective action plans to address identified risks.

  • Lead and support investigations involving injuries, electrical incidents, vehicle incidents, near misses, and other safety events.

  • Perform root-cause analysis and partner with operational teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Track and report injuries, illnesses, incidents, corrective actions, and HSE performance metrics, ensuring accurate classification, documentation, and timely resolution.

  • Manage and support the driver safety program, including analysis of vehicle-related incidents, identification of trends, and implementation of initiatives designed to reduce preventable incidents.

  • Develop and deliver HSE training focused on electrical hazards, safe driving, field safety, and other operational risks relevant to Solar, ESS, UPS, Battery, Wind, and EV operations.

  • Develop and update HSE policies, procedures, training materials, and safety communications to support regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other HSE communications for operational and field teams.

  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with applicable customer HSE requirements and safety expectations.

  • Monitor HSE performance trends and provide recommendations to leadership regarding areas of risk and opportunities for improvement.

  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of HSE management systems and reporting processes.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local HSE requirements, including OSHA and EPA standards.

  • Travel to project sites and operational locations throughout the United States to provide hands-on HSE support, training, audits, incident response, and coaching.

Core Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HSE, safety coordination, or related safety experience, preferably supporting Solar, ESS, UPS, Battery, Wind, EV, electrical, renewable-energy, critical-power, or similar field-service operations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety practices and hazards associated with electrical and energy-related field operations.

  • Experience supporting or managing driver and vehicle safety programs, including incident prevention and corrective actions.

  • Experience conducting incident investigations, root-cause analysis, field audits, safety inspections, and corrective action tracking.

  • Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, federal, and state HSE regulations; familiarity with Cal/OSHA requirements is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and support HSE programs, procedures, policies, and safety initiatives.

  • Experience developing and delivering safety training to field employees, technicians, supervisors, and operational leaders.

  • Ability to analyze HSE metrics and incident trends and translate findings into practical recommendations and preventive actions.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coach, influence, and build credibility with employees and leaders at all levels.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote and field-based environment.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with HSE, Operations, customers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% throughout the United States.
