Why UKG:
At UKG, the work you do matters. The code you ship, the decisions you make, and the care you show a customer all add up to real impact. Today, tens of millions of workers start and end their days with our workforce operating platform. Helping people get paid, grow in their careers, and shape the future of their industries. That’s what we do.
We never stop learning. We never stop challenging the norm. We push for better, and we celebrate the wins along the way. Here, you’ll get flexibility that’s real, benefits you can count on, and a team that succeeds together. Because at UKG, your work matters—and so do you.
About the Team
The Engineering Data Systems team is the data and analytics backbone of UKG’s engineering organization. We provision engineering data, define the metrics behind it, and deliver the reports and dashboards leaders rely on to understand delivery, quality, and operational health. The team is now expanding its scope to bring more of engineering’s data provisioning and metrics reporting under one roof, and this role is part of that growth.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer III, you’ll build the data products behind UKG’s engineering metrics end to end — source-system integrations, the pipelines and models that shape the data, and the dashboards leaders act on. You’ll own one product area at a time and rotate across the stack as priorities shift.
- You’ll build batch and streaming pipelines with Python, SQL, BigQuery, Airflow, and Kafka or Pub/Sub so data lands complete, on time, and in the right shape.
- You’ll develop REST API integrations with source systems using OpenAPI contracts, JSON and Avro schemas, and OAuth 2.0 authentication.
- You’ll design semantic data models in BigQuery and build dashboards in Looker, Power BI, or Plotly Dash, with metrics defined once and reused everywhere.
- You’ll apply data quality checks, automated testing, monitoring, and CI/CD so what you ship stays trustworthy as sources change.
- You’ll fix production issues at root cause and support what you ship during business hours, with occasional overlap with United States-based colleagues.
