THE WORK:
- Define and maintain the software safety architecture for a complex SoC software platform, covering low-level software components, hypervisor integration, bootloaders, and operating system layers.
- Derive and allocate safety requirements from system level down to software components while supporting continuous improvement of safety-related processes and solutions.
- Design and implement safety mechanisms supporting freedom from interference (FFI) across partitions, processor cores, and privilege levels, while expanding your expertise in safety-critical embedded platforms.
- Own the software safety architecture within hypervisor-based virtualization environments, including QNX Hypervisor integrations, and drive ongoing development of scalable safety concepts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on hardware-software interfaces, safe boot processes, integrity verification, startup and shutdown sequences, and safety analyses while continuously enhancing platform reliability and compliance.
Flexible: The work location for this role may include a mix of working remotely (most of the time), onsite at a client or in an Accenture office - depending on specific project circumstances. With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders, and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.

- Collaborate with international engineering teams and deepen your expertise in functional safety, virtualization technologies, and embedded software architecture.
- Access opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth while helping shape next-generation automotive software solutions.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 7+ years of experience in software safety architecture, functional safety engineering, or a similar role.
- Deep understanding of ISO 26262, particularly Part 6 (Software Level) and Part 4 (System-Level Development).
- Hands-on experience with safety-relevant SoC platforms and hardware safety features such as MPU/MMU, ECC, lockstep cores, or comparable technologies.
- Experience with hypervisor-based architectures, including QNX Hypervisor, Xen, or similar solutions used in safety-critical or mixed-criticality environments.
- Strong low-level software background covering bootloaders, bare-metal development, RTOS environments, or operating system internals.
- Ability to translate system-level safety requirements into practical and implementable software solutions.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience working with automotive virtualization platforms and multi-domain vehicle architectures.
- Hands-on involvement in software safety analyses, reviews, and compliance activities.
- Knowledge of Linux-, AUTOSAR-, or Adaptive AUTOSAR-based embedded platforms.
Research indicates that some candidates, especially the most diverse ones, may hesitate to apply for positions if they don't meet all requirements. If you believe you possess the necessary skills, even if not meeting every requirement, we wholeheartedly encourage you to submit your application.
