Water Resources Hydrogeologist/Engineer
Houston, TX (Austin, TX also ideal) | Full-Time | Professional

Your Opportunity
Help shape how communities and clients manage their water. You'll join an employee-owned engineering and environmental consulting firm and support water resources projects in Texas, Colorado, California, and other states. Your work will span the full project life cycle: planning, feasibility, design, implementation, and completion. You'll report to a Team Leader.
What You'll Do
Technical Analysis
- Build hydrogeologic conceptual models, water balances, and numerical models to assess groundwater availability
Reports and Planning
- Prepare groundwater sustainability plans, water supply assessments, urban water management plans, water transfer studies, and conservation programs
- Write clear reports and presentations that make complex technical issues easy to understand
Fieldwork
- Support site visits, water level and quality data collection, well installation, and aquifer testing
Project Support
- Assist project managers and senior staff with proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and progress reports
- Take on other related duties as needed
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, hydrology, geology, earth sciences, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience as a hydrogeologist or engineer on water resources projects
- Working knowledge of numerical groundwater modeling (e.g., MODFLOW), water resources planning, groundwater availability investigations, data management and visualization, ArcGIS, and technical writing
- Strong written and verbal communication with colleagues, clients, subconsultants, regulators, and the public
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across teams
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning
Preferred
- Master's degree
- Active Texas licensure or certification: PG, PE, GIT, or EIT
- Python proficiency
- Familiarity with Texas groundwater regulations, water data sources, groundwater availability models, and regional water planning
- OSHA HAZWOPER training

- Fast-paced, with a high volume of work and frequent short deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Extended periods of sitting or standing
Travel
- Occasional travel, up to 20% of the time, including possible overnight trips for client meetings and site visits
- Valid driver's license required
