The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as an Automation Solutions Developer and help accelerate our digital transformation journey by designing and delivering innovative automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance business performance. In this role, you will leverage technologies such as VBA, Python, Power Automate, Microsoft 365, and SAP to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and enable smarter ways of working across the organization.

Working closely with business stakeholders, you will identify automation opportunities, transform requirements into scalable solutions, and support initiatives that drive productivity and operational excellence. From workflow automation and system integrations to reporting and data processing solutions, you will play a critical role in helping teams simplify complex activities and focus on higher-value work.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using VBA, Python, and Microsoft Power Automate.
• Build and enhance workflows that improve operational efficiency, process consistency, and user experience.
• Automate business processes across SAP, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Outlook, and other enterprise applications.
• Develop reporting, dashboarding, and data-processing solutions that support informed business decisions.
• Integrate systems and applications using APIs, databases, and cloud-based services.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and automation activities to improve data quality and business insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver scalable automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and continuously improve existing tools and automation solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and operating procedures.
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives by identifying opportunities to automate and optimize business processes.

Your Background

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing automation solutions using VBA, Python, and Microsoft Power Automate.
• Strong understanding of workflow automation, scripting, data processing, and business process optimization.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications, databases, Microsoft 365 services, and external systems.
• Knowledge of SQL, API integrations, ETL processes, and reporting technologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
• Experience with SAP, Power BI, Power Apps, SharePoint, Finance, ERP, or business process automation projects is considered an advantage.
