Description
Lyle takes the best of “home” and then makes it even better. It is somewhere you can make your own, be cared for and always feel welcome. Whether you’re a proud Washingtonian or a guest in our capital city, you’ll unwind in complete comfort throughout your time with us. However, that comfort is never at the expense of a style that is unique to Lyle: beyond the expected, but never over the top.
We're looking for a Brand Marketing Manager who understands the culture of Washington, DC and hospitality, and has a strong understanding of what makes a brand relevant.
Lyle DC is located in Dupont Circle, a neighborhood that offers an eclectic blend of historic homes, attractions, galleries and exciting restaurants and bars. It’s an area where everyone belongs and everyone can feel at home.
We’re looking for someone who is curious, culturally connected and close to what is happening in DC. Someone who knows the neighborhood how people move through the city and shapes the hotel brand around that, not around a generic idea of lifestyle or boutique hospitality.
What you'll do
- Act as the on-property brand guardian for Lyle Washington DC, ensuring its positioning, tone of voice and visual identity are consistently brought to life across every touchpoint
- Act as a key operational member of the marketing team, executing overall strategy and brand positioning and working with commercial teams to analyze data and support the business
- Identify partnership, programming and cultural opportunities that connect Lyle DC with both the neighborhood and new audiences, reinforcing its brand positioning
- Lead relationships with external partners, digital marketing agencies and PR representatives, contributing to monthly strategy calls and providing reporting to leadership teams
- Execute the property's social media strategy, including content capture, creation and identifying key partners for UGC
- Evaluate influencer and KOL opportunities, recommending partnerships that align with the brand, audience and commercial priorities
- Lead the planning and delivery of on-property brand and F&B activations, ensuring each is aligned with the hotel’s positioning and commercial objectives
- Coordinate on-property photo shoots, filming, site tours and media visits, including preparation, logistics and the review of external photography and filming requests
- Own and maintain the property marketing plan, translating the annual strategic sales and marketing plan into clear priorities, campaigns and activity throughout the year
- Own day-to-day website content and updates, ensuring the digital guest journey remains accurate, relevant and consistently on-brand
- Track and report on marketing performance across digital, website and campaign activity, using clear metrics and ROI where applicable to inform future activity and commercial decision-making
- Play an active role in weekly commercial strategy meetings, bringing performance insights, upcoming activity, market intelligence and ideas to support both brand and revenue objectives
- Stay closely informed on the competitive landscape, cultural trends and evolving customer behavior, identifying opportunities to keep the hotel relevant and ahead of the market
- Oversee CRM, guest communications, in-room collateral and upsell platforms, ensuring messaging is commercially effective and consistent with the Lyle DC brand
- Contribute to the development of revenue-driving campaigns and initiatives across key business segments, bringing a strong brand and customer perspective
Qualifications
- Degree in marketing, communications or hospitality preferred
- Strong analytical, financial and project coordination skills
- Strong social media experience, with familiarity across Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn
- Working knowledge of MS Office, InDesign, GA4, Photoshop or Canva
- Familiarity with CMS platforms and AI tools
- Knowledge of marketing, e-commerce, copywriting and content management
Experience
- 3+ years in a similar role, ideally at a boutique, lifestyle or independent hotel
- Team management experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
Skills
- Works well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Strong communication, organization and analytical skills
- Team player with positive interpersonal skills
- Confident presenting and as a meeting lead
- Solves problems without needing oversight
- Solid attention to detail
- Effective at managing conflict and change
- Knowledge of relevant market regulations
- Stays current on industry trends
- Decisive, and able to react well to unforeseen difficulties
