Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is looking for a commercially minded Director of Marketing to turn marketing strategy into measurable business growth. This leader will oversee demand generation, inbound lead management, brand development, and campaign performance while working closely with Sales and Operations teams across multiple markets.
The right candidate understands that effective marketing is about more than impressions and activity. They can build a reliable pipeline, improve lead conversion, strengthen customer retention, and connect marketing investments to revenue. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can establish clear processes, guide a team of internal and external partners, and adapt quickly as business priorities evolve.
What You Will Do
- Lead Marketing Strategy: Build and implement an annual marketing plan tied to revenue growth, profitability, customer retention, and geographic expansion.
- Manage the Inbound Funnel: Oversee the process from initial lead generation through qualification, appointment setting, opportunity creation, sales handoff, and performance reporting.
- Align Marketing and Sales: Establish clear expectations for lead response times, qualification, assignment, follow-up, and final disposition across Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
- Define Target Markets: Refine ideal customer profiles, buyer personas, priority industries, geographic targets, and account-based marketing plans.
- Generate Qualified Demand: Develop campaigns across search, digital advertising, email, website content, referrals, partnerships, events, and other appropriate channels.
- Improve Website Performance: Oversee website messaging, landing pages, forms, calls to action, tracking, and conversion improvements to turn more visitors into qualified prospects.
- Develop Sales-Focused Content: Produce case studies, customer success materials, educational content, market-specific resources, and sales enablement tools that clearly communicate the company's value.
- Strengthen Lead Nurturing: Implement lead scoring, qualification standards, automated follow-ups, and nurturing workflows through the company's CRM and marketing automation systems.
- Maintain Lead Data Quality: Ensure inbound inquiries are captured, enriched where appropriate, assigned correctly, contacted, documented, and tracked consistently.
- Improve Conversion Rates: Work with Sales leadership to identify gaps in the funnel, improve lead-to-opportunity conversion, and increase the percentage of opportunities that become customers.
- Measure Business Impact: Create dashboards and reporting that track qualified lead volume, response time, contact rates, pipeline contribution, conversion rates, acquisition costs, and marketing-influenced revenue.
- Manage Marketing Investments: Oversee budgets, advertising spend, agencies, contractors, creative partners, and marketing technology while evaluating return on investment.
- Support Market Expansion: Partner with regional and local leadership on market launches, location-specific campaigns, and growth initiatives in new territories.
- Identify Account Growth Opportunities: Support appropriate cross-selling and upselling campaigns for complementary services based on customer needs and business priorities.
- Protect Brand Reputation: Coordinate brand standards, public relations, customer communications, reputation management, and community engagement.
- Maintain Campaign Accountability: Establish a marketing calendar with defined goals, budgets, responsibilities, deadlines, and regular performance reviews.
- Monitor Market Conditions: Evaluate competitor activity, customer demand, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities to improve positioning and campaign relevance.
- Optimize Continuously: Test messaging, offers, channels, landing pages, and campaign approaches, shifting resources toward the strategies that produce the strongest measurable results.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible B2B marketing experience, including demonstrated success in demand generation and revenue growth.
- Experience managing inbound lead generation or an inbound sales development/inside-sales function.
- Background supporting a multi-location, service-based B2B organization.
- Strong understanding of the full B2B sales funnel, lead qualification, pipeline management, attribution, and conversion-rate optimization.
- Hands-on experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms; Salesforce, HubSpot, or comparable systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of SEO, paid search, digital advertising, email campaigns, website analytics, conversion optimization, and content development.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate marketing performance using data, financial metrics, and return-on-investment analysis.
- Excellent writing, presentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage internal resources and external agencies while maintaining direct involvement in execution.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to support business travel or local market activities as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience marketing security services is strongly preferred.
- Success leading marketing programs across multiple locations or geographic markets.
- Experience connecting campaign performance to qualified pipeline, customer acquisition cost, revenue, and profitability.
- Familiarity with account-based marketing, lead scoring, automated nurture programs, and sales enablement.
- Experience launching campaigns in new markets and supporting customer retention or account expansion initiatives.
Leadership Approach
The successful candidate will bring a practical, results-oriented approach to marketing leadership. They should be comfortable setting direction while remaining close to the work, building processes without creating unnecessary complexity, and working directly with Sales and field leadership in a distributed organization.
We value a leader who:
- Prioritizes qualified opportunities and business outcomes over activity alone.
- Uses data to make informed decisions and adjust spending.
- Takes ownership of commitments, deadlines, and performance.
- Translates customer needs and market insights into clear positioning.
- Builds productive relationships across departments and follows through on agreed priorities.
