Description
WHO
Our client is a leading international law firm with a long-standing reputation for excellence and a genuinely collegiate working culture across its Asia offices. The Hong Kong office is seeking an experienced legal assistant or paralegal to join its investment funds practice, supporting partners and associates on private equity fund mandates. The successful candidate will report into the funds partners and work as part of a close team of legal assistants.
WHAT
The role centres on supporting the firm's private equity funds practice across formation, capital-raising and downstream investment work. Day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with drafting proofing and maintaining fund documentation — covering partnership arrangements, side letters, subscription and transfer papers, and entity formation records — as well as carrying out investor suitability checks and supporting the team through transaction execution. The successful candidate will interact regularly with clients, counsel and external providers, manage substantial document volumes, assist with regulatory submissions, and undertake research and data analysis to support the practice.
YOU
The successful candidate will bring around three to five years' experience in a funds-related role within a law firm setting. A law degree is advantageous but not a prerequisite. Strong written and spoken English and Mandarin are essential, alongside solid research capability and a meticulous, well-organised approach to handling detailed work under tight deadlines. You will be comfortable working autonomously when needed while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Fluency in standard office software and Chinese word processing is expected, as is a willingness to be flexible on hours when transactional demands require it. A measured, personable communicator who takes ownership of their work will do well here.
