Description
Seeking a PMO Manager (Project Management Organization Manager) with experience managing projects and leading teams for Electrical Transmission, Distribution, and Substation Projects. The ideal candidate have 15 years’ experience in project management with at least 5 years’ experience in the electric utility industry.
This position is responsible for enhancing the quality and efficiency of projects by providing oversight, guidance, and direct Client interaction.
This position is located in our office in Boerne, TX and will require travel to project sites.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The principal duties and responsibilities of the PMO Manager consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Project Management and Best Practices:
- Maintain and recommend improvement of project management frameworks, tools, and templates for consistent project delivery across all divisions.
- Evaluate, recommend and implement project management methodologies, standards, best practices, and processes.
- Oversee project planning, execution, and closing, ensuring projects are on time, within scope, within budget, and focused on profitability.
- Conduct monthly meetings with Directors, Principals, and other Project Managers to ensure consistency in project management and address issues that arise.
- Act as the liaison between Divisional Directors, Principals, Project Managers, and the Executive Team to ensure alignment with Company goals and strategies.
- Lead mid-month WIP review meetings for Project Managers who run applicable projects.
- Hold monthly best practice meetings with PM committee.
- Train new Project Managers and Project Coordinators. Mentor other Project Managers across the organization.
- Resolve issues that arise by determining root causes and evaluating processes when necessary for best practices for continuous improvement.
- Proposal development: Collaborate with Directors and Principals to develop proposal cost estimates and deliverable timelines, ensuring consensus, alignment, and Principal approval before submission to the Client.
Client Relations and Communication:
- Represent SEnergy and maintain positive relationships with key Client personnel.
- Communicate effectively with Clients, responding to inquiries within 48 hours.
- Monitor Client satisfaction and address any issues that arise.
- Interface with Clients to understand requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.
- Submit regular project status reports to Clients per SEnergy guidelines.
Project Planning and Execution of all EPC Projects:
- This position may manage EPC projects from time to time but also has full oversight of all EPC projects.
- Oversee project planning, execution, and closing, ensuring projects are on time, within scope, within budget, and focused on profitability.
- Develop and communicate project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and resource allocation plans.
- Create work breakdown structures and assign resources to tasks.
- Conduct project kick-off meetings, communicate scope and deadlines, and hold regular team meetings to maintain accountability.
- Identify and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress, issue status reports, and handle project closure.
Team Coordination and Collaboration:
- Facilitate communication within the divisions to ensure clear understanding of staffing requirements and deadlines, resolving schedule and resource conflicts by coordinating with Directors.
- Be responsive and eliminate any logjams the project team may experience.
- Overcommunicate with all project stakeholders.
Contract Facilitation:
- Assist in establishing contracts with Clients and subcontractors, ensuring all agreements are in compliance with Company policies and legal requirements.
- Act as a liaison between the project teams and the SEnergy Contract Administrator to expedite contract approvals and address any contractual issues promptly.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between Clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth contract execution and adherence to project timelines.
Subcontractor Management:
- Review and evaluate subcontractor qualifications, certifications, and financial stability.
- Ensure all necessary documentation, including contracts and insurance certificates, are collected and maintained.
- Verify compliance with industry regulations, legal standards, and internal policies.
- Develop a comprehensive onboarding plan for subcontractors, including orientation sessions and project-specific training.
- Collaborate with the SEnergy safety department to ensure subcontractors adhere to safety protocols.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between subcontractors and internal teams.
- Implement systems to monitor subcontractor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Act as a point of contact for subcontractors to resolve issues, disputes, or conflicts.
- Cultivate positive relationships with subcontractors to encourage long-term partnerships.
- Regularly review and refine subcontractor onboarding processes based on feedback and best practices.
Performance and Feedback:
- Provide feedback to administrative supervisors regarding employee performance for use in performance reviews and goal setting.
- Complete accurate time and expense reports daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- 15 years Project Management experience with 5 years’ experience managing technical projects.
SKILLS:
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills,
- Exceptional computer skills, with emphasis on project management, spreadsheet, and word processing applications.
- Ability to manage time and competing deadlines while keeping projects on time.
PHYSICAL:
- This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
