Engineering Support Specialist (Multiple Openings)

As an Engineering Support Specialist, you'll work alongside technicians to repair, and test customer devices in our Product Hospital team.
 

As an Engineering Support Specialist, a typical day might include the following:

• Completing basic testing, services, or troubleshooting of SEL products and processes in accordance with defined procedures or guidelines under the direction of more experienced staff.

• Providing status updates to SEL staff and customers while communicating effectively with team members, internal partners, and customers.

• Learning and following department processes while identifying opportunities for improvement to documentation or work instructions.

• Representing your team by participating in collaborative improvement efforts.

• Developing basic proficiency in the activities required to support one of the Operation Team’s disciplines (i.e., Troubleshooting, Product Hospital, Test Floor Support, or Test Lab).

• Learning and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

• Understanding. Creating. Simplifying.

• Performing other duties as assigned.

• You have demonstrated experience or proficiency supporting more than one of the discipline areas.

• You can efficiently operate Windows and MS Office.

• You possess strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

• You are eager to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.

• You work cooperatively in a team environment.

• You can pass a background check and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three years’ experience working with SEL products.

• Experience with computer-controlled test equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, electronic schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 35 pounds occasionally.

• Sit and stand for at least 8 hours.

• Vision correctable to 20/30 or better.

• Ability to differentiate color.

• Use of computer keyboard devices.

• Reach, bend, twist.

Pay Range Data
New hires generally start between $26.00 - $40.00 per hour. We base our starting pay offer on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our ranges are determined by job and responsibility.
