Job Description

Mission & Impact

Reporting to the Head of Digital Engagement, this role is a senior position within a high-impact engagement team, accountable for shaping and leading enterprise-wide research and deep diagnostic reviews across Business Units (BUs) and Support Units. The role uncovers systemic root causes and partners with the Digital Delivery team to design innovative, integrated services using the bank’s enterprise capabilities, including AI/ML agents, data platforms, analytics services, workflow and automation engines, blockchain/tokenization capabilities, microservices, APIs, integration platforms, and net new services required to close strategic capability gaps.

The role is central to driving sustainable growth by setting the strategic direction for new ideas, technologies, services, and business models. The SVP role owns the end-to-end innovation and engagement portfolio, builds senior stakeholder sponsorship, fosters a culture of disciplined experimentation, and bridges emerging trends with practical, scalable, risk-aligned and ROI-driven solutions that create measurable business value and ecosystem growth.

Responsibilities

Lead a SWAT-style engagement team for rapid enterprise problem discovery and resolution

  • Set the engagement strategy, operating model, governance cadence, and triage mechanisms used to prioritize enterprise pain points and allocate team capacity.
  • Sponsor and lead structured diagnostic cycles covering root cause analysis, process mining, systems mapping, failure mode identification, stakeholder interviews, and quantitative and qualitative data collection.

Own platform monetization strategy and value realization

  • Define and execute enterprise strategies to monetize platform capabilities and realize measurable value.
  • Approve pricing approaches, value exchange structures, commercial propositions, and partnership frameworks in alignment with relevant governance requirements.
  • Establish monetization KPIs and executive reporting, and mobilize cross-functional teams to drive platform adoption, revenue growth, and value realization.

Shape strategic partnerships to expand connectivity and the network ecosystem

  • Build and deepen strategic relationships across fintechs, technology providers, ecosystem partners, and internal platform owners.
  • Oversee a structured partner onboarding model covering sandbox access, technical certification, data-sharing agreements, security assessments, and commercial alignment.

Set the agenda for trend analysis, business model innovation, and creative culture

  • Provide an enterprise perspective on market, technology, regulatory, and competitor developments to identify strategic growth opportunities.
  • Originate, sponsor, and scale new ideas, services, operating models, and business models.
  • Lead the design, testing, and executive validation of new business model constructs and strategic propositions.
  • Champion enterprise process reimagination to improve efficiency, productivity, control effectiveness, and customer outcomes.

Build a culture of rapid innovation and cross-domain problem solving

  • Model and embed behaviours associated with innovation excellence, experimentation, openness, systems thinking, commercial discipline, and solution-driven engineering.
  • Build leadership capability by coaching teams and senior stakeholders in hands-on problem exploration, storyboarding, prototyping, and iterative delivery.
  • Partner with the Convergence Services team and other enterprise functions to translate validated opportunities into scalable service delivery.

Sponsor structured, end-to-end discovery and executive alignment workshops

  • Design and lead high-impact discovery sessions with senior stakeholders across business, operations, risk, compliance, data, and technology.
  • Conduct ecosystem and value flow mapping, persona analysis, workflow and data flow documentation, and identification of pain points and unmet needs.
  • Elicit, refine, and validate requirements through scenario walkthroughs, service blueprinting, and “future back” solution envisioning.
  • Ensure disciplined capture and executive validation of insights, evidence, assumptions, decisions, and dependencies.

Co-develop future-state process flows and enterprise value hypotheses

  • Sponsor the design and implementation of efficient process flows, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, technology standards, data interoperability, privacy, security, and risk controls.
  • Develop and challenge value hypotheses tied to revenue uplift, cost reduction, risk mitigation, control effectiveness, and customer experience, supported by baseline metrics and clear benefit ownership.

Translate workshop outputs into decision-ready and delivery-ready artefacts

  • Ensure production of clear, structured artefacts including BRDs, process maps, user stories, business cases, investment proposals, and value scorecards.
  • Set quality standards so artefacts are version-controlled, enterprise-compliant, auditable, approved by relevant stakeholders, and ready for handover to delivery teams.

Align business, technology, risk, data, and governance leaders on decisions and next actions

  • Lead executive alignment forums that reconcile divergent priorities and convert them into actionable, cross-functional plans and investment decisions.
  • Define and secure agreement on ownership models, accountability matrices such as RACI, guardrails, funding requirements, success measures, and delivery sequencing.
  • Maintain executive sponsorship and delivery momentum through portfolio governance, structured tracking, steering committees, escalation mechanisms, and transparent communication.

Qualifications | Core Experience Requirements

  • 12-15+ years of progressive experience spanning business model and operating model innovation, digital services, enterprise platforms, ecosystem partnerships, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives, including significant leadership experience in complex regulated environments.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing, cross-domain engagement teams, shaping enterprise portfolios, delivering measurable business outcomes, and aligning senior stakeholders across business units, regulators, technology partners, and external ecosystems.

Innovation Domain Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of innovation management, design thinking, service design, and venture or proposition development, with a proven track record of facilitating high-impact executive workshops and converting emerging technology opportunities into scalable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies including AI, data, blockchain technologies, interoperability frameworks, platform economics, ecosystem models, and relevant regulatory considerations.

Leadership & Behavioral Competencies

  • Enterprise-level strategic thinking with the ability to translate business priorities into actionable portfolios, solution roadmaps, investment choices, and measurable outcomes.
  • Executive presence and strong storytelling and communication capabilities across C-suite audiences, governance forums, regulators, strategic partners, and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, navigate complex governance, resolve conflict, and build sustained alignment across disparate stakeholders.
  • Builder-mentor mindset with demonstrated ability to attract, coach, develop, and retain high-performing multidisciplinary talent and future leaders.
  • Comfortable making decisions in ambiguity, designing structure where none exists, managing enterprise-level complexity, and driving clarity and accountability at speed.

Personal Attributes

  • Enterprise systems thinker with strong strategic, commercial, and analytical capability.
  • High integrity, disciplined execution, sound judgement, and a strong bias for action and measurable outcomes.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, shaping new service models, and taking accountability for complex enterprise outcomes.
  • Curious, adaptive, externally oriented, and committed to continuous learning and talent development.
