Overview
We are seeking a Senior Vice President to serve as the US lead on a leading global technology client operating in the publicly traded B2B enterprise software company. As an integral partner to the Managing Director and global client lead, the Senior Vice President is the day-to-day account lead and a key member of the global leadership team. This person will oversee the US program across its two workstreams, Product and Partner Communications and Executive Visibility and Corporate Communications, is the single person the client's communications leaders call, and drives the account: the plan, the team, the budget, the quality of the work and the growth of the relationship. The role is dedicated to this client and sits inside a senior, embedded team working in tiger teams with the client's own communicators, with in-person presence in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Responsibilities
- Lead the US program day to day: the annual PR plan and quarterly plans by service pillar, the weekly integrated group with the client, one-to-ones with workstream leads, the operations platform for intake, approvals and status, and budget reporting every two weeks.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the clients: the first point of escalation, the owner of the rapid response protocol, and the partner to the client's communications leadership on priorities, trade-offs and quarter-by-quarter planning.
- Lead and coordinate key workstreams so they operate as one team and one plan, laddering every program to the company narrative.
- Bring strategic counsel and an “outside-in” perspective on the category move and how that client shows up in launches, earnings, and executive visibility.
- Deliver senior counsel into the big moments: the client's annual customer conference, platform launches, partner announcements with the leading AI labs and hyperscalers, quarterly earnings alongside our financial communications partners, and reactive issues as they arise.
- Manage the scope of work, profitability, utilization and resource planning for the US program; recommend how to optimize budgets, scope incremental projects, and uncover organic growth with the client and its wider agency partners.
- Build, lead and develop the team: hiring with the global lead, coaching the workstream leads and the delivery team, and setting the standard for an embedded, proactive, always-on service.
- Work as part of the integrated agency team, protecting the client's media relationships through an agreed relationship map and avoiding duplication across agencies.
- Promote and uphold Allison's core values; participate in agency-wide training and professional development programs.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Vice President or equivalent leading a large, multi-market, integrated enterprise technology account at a public relations agency. Senior Vice Presidents at Allison typically have 12+ years of experience.
- Deep B2B enterprise technology fluency that fits where the client is going: enterprise software and platforms, AI, cybersecurity, cloud and data. Experience at or around large enterprise software, cloud and security companies is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency to talk to a CISO and a product leader as well as a CFO, and to understand why a category move matters to a company's valuation.
- A track record of running day-to-day client relationships with senior in-house communications leaders as the single accountable person, on accounts with multiple workstreams and agencies.
- Experience with corporate and earnings-adjacent media relations, executive visibility programs for multiple executives, and rapid response.
- Strong operating discipline: scopes, budgets, utilization, resource planning and reporting across a program of this size.
- Direct management experience and a record of building and developing teams.
- Proven track record in driving organic growth and scoping incremental work.
- Strong commitment to client excellence and client service
- Demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring a dispersed team.
- Comfortable in a hybrid environment with regular in-person time in the San Francisco Bay Area, and able to work across time zones as needed.
Benefits
- Hybrid work environment with home and office schedule (2+ days in office per week) and work from anywhere weeks
- Comprehensive health benefits (healthcare, vision, dental, pet, home, and auto insurance)
- Generous time off policies (unlimited paid time off, wellness days, national holidays, summer Fridays)
- Four-week sabbatical every five years of employment
- Exceptional parental leave benefits
- Global mentorship and networking programs
- Monthly cell phone reimbursement
- 401k savings and employee stock purchase plan
- Volunteer hours (20 hours annually) for designated non-profit partner and personal choice
- Globally driven DEI initiatives (Employee Advocacy Groups, DEI committee)
- Career growth opportunities, such as Allison University (multi-day customized trainings for each level)
