JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, ensuring they gain proficiency in the skills covered in assigned courses. Maintain an organized and conducive learning environment. Ensure that all students are engaged and participating actively in the learning process.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and deliver course curriculum – create lesson plans and instructional materials for the courses engaging and effective instruction.
- Provides hands-on training. Instruct students. Develop, update, and maintain curriculum materials, lesson plans, and course content to meet learning objectives and industry standards.
- Foster a positive learning environment
- Ensure safety compliance teach and enforce safety regulation and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
- Assist in the development of customized training programs as needed.
- Conduct assessments. Administer practical and theoretical exams to evaluate student progress.
- Ensure training ensure training equipment is in good working condition.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, advancements, and safety standards.
- Assist students in developing skills for job readiness.
- Submit and verify all hours worked weekly
- Complete all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least six (6) college credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child Growth and Development, and 480 hours of experience in a childcare setting serving children ages birth through eight years. (A valid Florida teaching certificate may substitute for the 480 hours of experience.)
- OR Bachelor’s degree with a Florida teaching certificate and current employment by a Florida school district to teach Early Childhood Education in the Education and Training Cluster under the Department of Education Career and Technical Education Program. Trainers meeting this qualification may teach only in the Florida Department of Education Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC) and Child Care Apprenticeship Certificate (CCAC) programs.
- OR Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and 480 hours of experience in a childcare setting serving children ages birth through eight years.
- OR Associate degree with six (6) college credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child Growth and Development and 960 hours of experience in a childcare setting serving children ages birth through eight years.
- Completion of the Florida DCF six-clock-hour Train-the-Trainer course.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in early childhood education or a related field.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Skills
- Teaching and/or supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication, instructional, and classroom management skills.
- Strong organizational skills, patience, and a passion for teaching and helping students succeed.
- Ability to engage and motivate participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach up, stoop ability to participate in physical activities related to teaching, the ability to lift an object of fifty (50) pounds or less, and carry items in excess of fifty (50) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate technology and equipment as necessary.
