Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control Operations in York, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and delivery personnel. Through clear communication, customer-focused service, and attention to security-related procedures, you will help deter incidents while supporting smooth operations. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.61 / Hour

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204):

  • All candidates must demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets for communication and task management.
  • Emails should be composed using standard email clients and should adhere to the formatting and etiquette guidelines outlined in this policy.
  • Candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with basic computer functions, including but not limited to, email composition, attachment handling, and calendar management.

• Customer Service Experience (B219):

  • Candidates should highlight any relevant customer service experience in their email communications.
  • Emails should reflect a customer-centric approach, showcasing professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
  • Responses to inquiries should be timely and informative, demonstrating a commitment to excellent customer service.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points at a distribution location, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and document entries, exits, deliveries, and other site activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with employees, drivers, vendors, and visitors while supporting orderly access and traffic flow throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
