The Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL) represents a key collaboration between Alibaba Group and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Supported by the Singapore RIE2025 Fund, ANGEL creates and deploys impactful green digital technologies for global sustainability.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to develop next-generation Green AI technologies that improve the efficiency, sustainability, and scalability of artificial intelligence systems. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research and engineering in large language models (LLMs), efficient machine learning, and AI systems, translating research innovations into practical solutions for sustainable computing and real-world applications. This role offers opportunities to work at the intersection of AI research, software engineering, and sustainability, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across academia and industry.
Job Description:
Support the design, development, and implementation novel machine learning and large language model (LLM) algorithms for Green AI applications.
Support the research of efficient AI techniques, including model optimization, parameter-efficient fine-tuning, self-training, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and efficient inference.
Conduct experiments, benchmark algorithms, and analyze performance using rigorous scientific methodologies.
Contribute to publications in leading AI conferences and journals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research outcomes into deployable technologies.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in Green AI, foundation models, code intelligence, and AI systems.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and large language models.
Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed model training.
Strong programming skills in Python.
Experience with modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
