The Service Quality Specialist is responsible for governing service procedures following the standards agreed upon and expectations. This job description lists major areas of responsibility, and additional job activities may be added at any time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, validation, and implementation of test fixtures and test systems supporting service operations and New Product Development (NPD).
- Design and develop electrical, mechanical, and software-based test solutions to meet product and process requirements.
- Lead the validation and qualification of test systems, fixtures, equipment, and processes prior to implementation.
- Develop and maintain Work Instructions, Troubleshooting Guides, Maintenance Guides, Assembly Guides, and other technical documentation.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, requirements, and acceptance criteria for test fixtures and equipment.
- Execute fixture duplication and deployment strategies across service locations.
- Coordinate with NPD Project Leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure service requirements and test capabilities are established prior to product launch.
- Manage multiple technical projects and priorities while ensuring project timelines, validation requirements, and quality objectives are achieved.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Support, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and improve service readiness.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and project teams to develop and implement NPD service kits, fixtures, tooling, and required components.
- Analyze quality, test, repair, and operational data across multiple systems to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support and provide technical direction to third-party fixture development and engineering partners.
- Travel to service locations, suppliers, or other facilities as required to support fixture development, validation, implementation, troubleshooting, and NPD activities.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Engineering
- Design portfolio demonstrating previous fixtures, tooling, test systems, or equipment designs preferred.
- Experience with test fixture design, development, and implementation.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical fixture design.
- Experience with SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Experience integrating test equipment, software, and databases.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
