Under the supervision of the Research Director, the Research Assistant 2 will be performing research activities and is required to supports and supervises members of the lab ( Research Assistant 1 and Undergraduate and Graduate students)
Position Summary:
- Actively participates in the execution of the ongoing research projects;
- Is responsible for various administrative tasks (including budgets, management of meetings, and focus groups, minute-taking, and grant/protocol writing);
- Supports and supervise Research Assistants 1 with their research projects;
- Provides training to new recruits, students and staff;
- Establishes research methods, designs protocol, advances research and breaks new grounds;
- Troubleshoots research issues and resolves problems in design;
- Develops models and runs simulations;
- Reviews and evaluates research findings and determines results, prepares reports and manuscripts
- Participate in local, national and international collaborations;
- Participates in group meetings and in the general day-to-day management of research projects;
- Accomplishes any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Life Sciences, Bioengineering or a related field
- Experience in project coordination and management;
- Experience in data analysis and statistics;
- Solid experience in scientific writing (peer-review publications and grant applications);
- Excellent French and English, spoken and written;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision
