BASIC PURPOSEThe Sr Coordinator, Transportation will support the transportation and logistics functions by performing general clerical activities and managing the backhaul functions in the division. The Sr Coordinator, Transportation will work to optimize all transportation and logistics processes to create maximum efficiency.

We are looking for a Sr Transportation Coordinator who is ready to grow their career while supporting our transportation, logistics, and backhaul operations.

6:00 AM start time
Schedule and hours may vary based on business needs. Overtime may be required.
Main Ingredients of the Job
As a Senior Transportation Coordinator, you will support the day-to-day transportation, logistics, and backhaul functions while helping ensure efficient operations and service.
Transportation
Answer incoming calls and assist with resolving driver, sales representative, and customer issues. Communicate route updates to drivers as needed.
Utilize software and systems such as Microsoft Excel, Omnitracs, Tandem, and Kronos to create, update, and communicate transportation reports and files.
Maintain transportation documentation and metrics, including attendance, DVIRs, backhaul spreadsheets, delivery window dispatch, driver key logs, trailer temperature logs, transportation route updates, network updates, and other transportation metrics.
Complete the damages and shorts process by communicating with vendors and drivers to find resolutions and completing associated paperwork.
Support the training and development of junior clerical team members.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Backhaul & Logistics
Communicate key information to appropriate teams to support backhaul and transportation operations, including backhaul arrivals, daily dispatch information, backhaul scheduling and rescheduling, Omnitracs service updates, and delivery or service issues.
Coordinate logistics by scheduling pickup appointments for backhaul orders and vendors for the division.
Optimize the pickup and delivery of inbound backhauls while considering operational restrictions, minimizing costs, and ensuring compliance.
Complete required logistics and backhaul documentation and communicate relevant information to appropriate teams.
Research new backhaul opportunities with buyers and replenishment managers to help maximize division efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment
The work will primarily take place at a desk in an office environment but may occasionally require work in warehouse environments, including cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as -5°F.
What You Bring to the Table
Education
High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
Related Experience/Requirements
Minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse administrative or clerical position.
Prior logistics, transportation, and/or warehouse experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple functions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to independently resolve problems of intermediate scope.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support others in the department and division.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations.
Knowledge of the geographic delivery area.
Experience with Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, XATA, Manhattan, PowerDock, and Airclic preferred.
