About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen within the Food & Beverage Division in Shenzhen, the Pastry Chef de Partie is responsible for assisting in running the assigned kitchen efficiently and effectively. He/she is to ensure that the agreed quality, hygiene and other standards are kept or surpassed at all times. The Pastry Chef de Partie reports to the Pastry Sous Chef.

As Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Liaise and communicate with other Chef De Partie and Section leaders on any inter departmental requirements
• Be firm and critical to subordinates and promptly correct any deviations, mistakes, intolerable behavior, or appearance of colleagues
• Inspect all refrigerated and non-refrigerated food storage areas to ensure appropriate stock rotation. Ensure any out-of-stock items are being immediately reported
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head

As Pastry Chef de Partie, we expect from you: 

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant working experience in similar capacity
• Proven Leadership skills with a growth mindset  
• A great team player with good communication skills
