Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Implement control framework requirements within assigned Operations domains. Apply standards established by the AVP, maintain accurate control inventories and procedures, and assist process owners in embedding appropriate and effective controls.
- Coordinate control monitoring and first-line testing. Conduct or coordinate scheduled reviews, assess the adequacy of supporting evidence, document exceptions and submit proportionate corrective recommendations for management consideration.
- Administer incident, issue and remediation activities within the assigned scope. Facilitate root-cause analysis, monitor action plans and supporting evidence, challenge incomplete responses, and escalate material, recurring or overdue matters to the AVP.
- Support regulatory, compliance and audit readiness. Coordinate information requests, verify the completeness and accuracy of supporting evidence, and monitor agreed actions under the direction of the AVP and the relevant subject-matter functions.
- Prepare governance reporting and risk analysis. Maintain dashboards, key risk indicators and committee materials; identify emerging trends and submit recommendations for review and approval by the AVP.
- Promote control awareness and continuous improvement. Provide guidance, communicate relevant lessons learned, and support process enhancements that strengthen control effectiveness while maintaining proportionate customer and operational outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Accounting, Operations Management or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications in insurance, risk management, compliance, audit or governance disciplines are advantageous.
- Minimum 6-10 years of relevant experience in life insurance operations, operational risk, governance, compliance, audit, quality assurance or control management.
- Strong understanding of Life & Health insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, policy administration and customer servicing.
- Knowledge of operational risk management principles, control frameworks and governance practices.
- Familiarity with Hong Kong insurance regulatory requirements, compliance obligations and market conduct expectations.
- Experience in control testing, quality assurance, issue management and remediation tracking.
- Knowledge of AML/CFT, customer due diligence, data privacy, complaints handling, outsourcing governance and operational resilience principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and assess control effectiveness.
- Excellent report writing, governance reporting and management information preparation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Operations, Risk, Compliance and Audit functions.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment.
