The Job
Drive the deployment of public asset investments across fixed income, equities, cash, and other liquid market instruments, in line with approved Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA), Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA), risk appetite, and portfolio guidelines
Maintain active dialogue with bank counterparties, asset manager partners, and market participants to source investment ideas, understand market liquidity, assess execution levels, and identify deployment opportunities
Apply a good understanding of various public asset classes to translate SAA and TAA decisions into actionable portfolio implementation plans, including asset class tilts, mandate funding, cash deployment, and rebalancing actions across public markets
Partner with Group and local stakeholders to align deployment priorities with liability needs, cashflow forecasts, capital considerations, accounting constraints, and local portfolio requirements
Support execution across public markets by coordinating with external managers, internal investment teams, operations, risk, actuarial, finance, and local business units to ensure timely and controlled implementation
Monitor market conditions, portfolio positioning, liquidity, duration, spread, equity exposure, and other key investment metrics to support timely deployment and tactical portfolio actions
Prepare portfolio implementation updates, deployment trackers, execution summaries, and investment recommendations for senior management, Group stakeholders, and local investment committees
Track and review external manager activities, mandate capacity, execution readiness, investment pipelines, and adherence to agreed guidelines and portfolio objectives
Contribute to investment transformation, process improvement, data quality, and reporting initiatives that enhance deployment efficiency, execution discipline, and portfolio oversight, focusing on public asset classes
The Person
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, actuarial science, or a relevant discipline; CFA qualification or candidacy is a plus
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in investment management, public markets, asset allocation, portfolio implementation, treasury, or a related finance discipline; experience with insurers, asset owners, banks, or institutional asset managers is advantageous
Solid understanding of public asset classes, including fixed income, credit, equities, cash, ETFs, funds, and derivatives, with practical knowledge of SAA, TAA, portfolio rebalancing, and implementation considerations
Strong execution mindset, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate multiple deployment workstreams under tight timelines and changing market conditions
Strong market awareness and ability to interpret macro, rates, credit, equity, liquidity, and technical market developments into practical portfolio actions
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with Group functions, local business units, external managers, bank partners, and internal control functions
Proactive, commercially minded, and collaborative, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to follow through from investment idea generation to implementation and post-execution monitoring
Familiarity with insurance investment considerations, including liability matching, capital, liquidity, accounting, risk limits, and governance requirements, is an advantage
Strong analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to build deployment trackers, portfolio dashboards, scenario analysis, and management-ready investment materials
Experience in executing, monitoring and management of derivatives
Proficient in Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other investment analytics or portfolio management tools; experience with automation and process improvement is desirable
