Description
Agility 360 is searching for experienced Accounting Analyst, Banking Operations for a contract position with our growing client. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in a banking/financial services environment.
As an Accountant, you'll need to work with integrity and accuracy. You'll need to be a team player and have excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills. You'll need to be internally driven and work independently i.e.: a self-starter who thinks a few steps ahead and anticipates what is needed prioritizes tasks, stays aware of due dates, and coordinates with others to ensure required information is received in time to meet deadlines. If an issue is identified, you'll need to research the situation, propose a solution, resolve it, and set up procedures to prevent the issue from happening again.
A successful candidate can quickly understand processes and identify areas to increase efficiencies. You’ll need to drive change by improving procedures while ensuring the Company’s general ledger accounts maintain financial integrity.
This is a fast-paced environment, therefore top-notch multitasking skills are a must. You'll need to ensure deadlines are met, while being polite and professional in your communication. Follow ups must be timely on inquiries, and you must ensure issues are completely resolved and all loops closed.
You'll need to be confident in your technological skills and will need to be able to easily adapt to changing software and technology. You’ll need the ability to successfully utilize Excel’s functionalities for data analysis, such as nested formulas, If statements, and pivot tables.
Must be familiar with regulatory compliance and strong aptitude for detail, accuracy, and organization.
Job Responsibilities:

Assist with activities associated with the day-to-day accounting operations

Interact with management, coworkers, customers, and vendors to handle general accounting inquiries

Perform Accounts Receivable duties on a daily basis, including creating and sending out invoices, setting up new customers, maintaining customer information accuracy, coordinating with other departments, applying for payments, investigating unapplied funds

Record daily cash transactions for assigned bank accounts

Participate in the monthly general ledger close

Prepare supporting schedules for reconciliations

Assist with activities ensuring compliance with SOX, company policies and procedures, as well as applicable banking regulations

Perform various transaction research and review activities, such as analysis of large quantities of data involving multiple facets and variables in Excel

Record various general ledger entries

Help with Audit requests and SOX compliance

Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Experience:
-
3+ years of related experience in Accounting, Finance (GL Mgmt., Public Reporting, Analysis) or similar field.

Bachelor's degree in related field required; Masters or MBA in related field preferred.

Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.

Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.

Intermediate understanding of AP principles and GAAP.

Intermediate proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.

Certified Public Accountant preferred.
