JOB DESCRIPTION:
About Abbott
Abbott is a global healthcare leader, creating breakthrough science to improve people’s health. We’re always looking towards the future, anticipating changes in medical science and technology. Our Rapid Diagnostics division is about providing innovative ways to screen, diagnose and monitor a vast range of health conditions with greater speed, accuracy and efficiency. Abbott's rapid diagnostic tests allow healthcare professionals and their patients to get same-day results. For healthcare workers, this means they can diagnose and advise their patients in a single office visit. For patients, quicker results means earlier treatment, less anxiety, less time and money spent on repeat doctor visits and a faster return to good health.
The Role
We're looking for a commercially driven sales professional who thrives on opening doors, building strategic relationships, and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships.
This is not a traditional account management role. While maintaining key customer relationships is important, success in this position comes from finding new opportunities, influencing senior healthcare stakeholders, and driving sustained revenue growth across a diverse healthcare customer base.
Responsible for Queensland and Northern Territory, you will work closely with key decision-makers, clinical stakeholders, laboratory leaders, and healthcare executives to deliver innovative diagnostic solutions that improve patient outcomes while achieving growth objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities within your territory.
- Develop and execute strategic territory growth plans.
- Build strong relationships with senior healthcare decision-makers and influencers.
- Drive revenue growth through both new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts.
- Conduct high-value sales conversations and negotiate successful commercial outcomes.
- Present innovative diagnostic solutions to clinical, laboratory, and healthcare management stakeholders.
- Monitor territory performance against sales targets and implement corrective actions when required.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline and opportunity management process through Salesforce.com.
- Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and internal stakeholders to maximise customer outcomes.
- Represent the organisation at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional meetings.
- Deliver exceptional customer engagement and account development strategies.
What we’re looking for
- A true hunter who enjoys finding, creating and closing opportunities.
- Competitive, resilient and motivated by achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Comfortable engaging senior executives and healthcare stakeholders.
- Strategic in approach, yet highly proactive in execution.
- Self-motivated, resourceful and driven by results.
- Skilled at navigating complex customer environments and influencing multiple stakeholders.
- Passionate about building relationships that lead to commercial success.
- Experience within diagnostics, medical devices or in-vitro diagnostics is desirable but not essential.
If you're energised by prospecting, identifying untapped opportunities, developing winning sales strategies, and exceeding targets, we'd love to hear from you.
Abbott provides some fantastic benefits for our employees, these include:
- Discounted Healthcare
- Access to Fitness Passport
- Discounted Shares program
