About the Role:
The Director of Trade Marketing & Events, Pro Americas is a strategic leader responsible for creating and driving the experiential and trade marketing vision for the professional channel. This role owns the end-to-end, 360 full-funnel trade marketing strategy—from high-funnel awareness events to low-funnel conversion and advocacy—specifically optimized for the pro-funnel (distributors, salons, and stylists).
Additionally, this leader will oversee the strategy for North American professional trade shows and experiential events, directly managing and mentoring the team to deliver world-class brand experiences. As a key organizational leader, you will provide critical thought leadership and strategic cross-functional collaboration with counterparts across Global Brand Marketing, Communications, and Global Education to ensure unified brand expressions and robust go-to-market (GTM) execution.
Strategic Leadership & Full-Funnel Execution
- 360 Full-Funnel Strategy: Architect and steer the comprehensive 360 trade marketing strategy across the North American professional channel, maximizing touchpoints across the entire stylist and distributor lifecycle
- Go-To-Market Architecture: Lead the development and execution of holistic, high-impact GTM commercial plans for new product innovations, promotions, seasonal events, visual merchandising, and digital commerce activations in the pro channel
- Global to Regional Translation: Serve as the strategic bridge transforming global brand visions and campaigns into commercialized, channel-specific realities that resonate with salon pros and distribution networks
- Commercial Joint Business Planning (JBP): Drive high-level strategic alignment with key pro partners, leading the marketing strategy for monthly business updates, line reviews, and joint-business planning sessions
- Budget & ROI Ownership: Oversee the professional trade marketing and events budget, establishing robust KPIs, evaluating campaign and event profitability, and continuously optimizing financial allocations to ensure peak business performance
Experiential Events & Trade Show Leadership
- Trade Show & Event Strategy: Collaborate with VP of Pro Sales, Americas, and the VP of Global Education to set the overarching strategic vision, calendar, and execution blueprint for all North American B2B trade shows, industry events, and stylist activations
- Experiential Brand Presence: Elevate the brand's physical presence at major industry touchpoints, ensuring that visual merchandising, live staging, and on-site storytelling reflect OLAPLEX’s premium positioning
- Cross-Functional Event Execution: Partner closely with Sales, Field, and Education, Ops, and Creative teams to ensure regional events align with overall commercial objectives and local market needs
Global Thought Leadership & Cross-Functional Synergy
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire the Trade Marketing Team and the Events + Trade team, fostering a high-performance culture capable of executing flawless experiential activations on time and within budget
- Global Brand Marketing Collaboration: Partner closely with the Global Brand Marketing leadership team to influence upstream GTM strategies, ensuring the North American professional perspective and full-funnel requirements are integrated into the global pipeline
- Global Education Alignment: Co-author out-of-the-box customer training materials and community-building initiatives alongside Global Education to deepen brand affinity, drive product understanding, and maximize B2B digital tool adoption
- NA Retail Trade Marketing Collaboration: Champion alignment between Pro and Retail trade marketing when appropriate. Foster strong relationships with counterparts across channels to ensure aligned pov and sharing of best practices on key tactics and tools.
- Communications Integration: Collaborate with the Communications and PR teams to align trade marketing and event initiatives with earned media, social media strategies, and influencer/stylist advocacy programs to amplify the pro ecosystem
About You:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree with a focus on marketing, communications, or a business-related field
- Experience: 8–10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 3+ years at a leadership/director level managing a team and overseeing Beauty and/or Professional Salon channels
- Event Expertise: Demonstrated success in leading large-scale trade shows, corporate events, and experiential marketing activations within the B2B or beauty space
- Strategic Agility: A proven track record of designing 360 full-funnel trade campaigns that drive commercial revenue, product adoption, and customer retention
- Influential Leader: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to act as a thought leader and influence global and regional cross-functional peers and external partners
- Full Funnel Expertise: Demonstrated success in pulling global innovation and campaigns through a full funnel with a strategic, always-on approach to key core products
- Analytical Powerhouse: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to turn complex market data, event ROI analyses, and competitive insights into actionable growth strategies
- Culture Fit: A proactive, collaborative, agile "go-getter" mindset with a deep passion for the beauty industry and the professional stylist community
