  • Generate detailed documentation for print processes such as technical drawings, instructions, and logs
  • Monitor the 3D-printing process of test specimens to ensure specimen quality and conformance to established test plans and standards
  • Analyze and interpret test results using sophisticated analytical techniques to identify performance trends and assess compliance with project objectives
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including, but not limited to, written drawings, reports, calculations, and presentations, that captures testing methodology, results, and conclusions for regulatory bodies, engineering consultants, and certification agencies
  • Assess unusual testing circumstances and devise creative solutions to overcome technical challenges in the testing process
  • Support regulatory approval processes by adapting established testing approaches and developing new methodologies as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in structural design, testing, research, or construction
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering from first principles, including mechanics of materials, structural analysis, and design fundamentals
  • Educational background or hands-on experience in the design and testing of concrete and masonry structural systems and materials
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills to assess complex technical challenges and develop effective solutions, including proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of structural test results using engineering principles and statistical methods
  • Experience conducting systematic technical literature reviews, including ability to identify relevant sources, evaluate technical publications, and summarize and integrate findings
  • Strong technical writing and drafting skills with demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive reports and documentation that accurately and effectively convey information
  • Familiarity with applicable structural testing standards and codes, including ASTM, ACI, ASCE, and building code requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with proven ability to work on multiple concurrent projects independently
  • Field work is required and some overnight travel may be required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hands-on experience with structural testing equipment, including hydraulic cylinders, pumps, actuators, load frames, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
  • Experience managing laboratory testing schedules, coordinating with multiple testing facilities, and overseeing complex testing timelines with external parties
  • Understanding of concrete material science, including mix design, curing processes, fresh and hardened properties, and durability characteristics
  • Field construction experience, particularly with concrete and masonry construction methods, quality control processes, and construction tools
  • Experience with seismic loading analysis, seismic design code requirements, and seismic testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with 3D printing technologies, additive manufacturing processes, or advanced construction methods
