Business Analyst I/IIFull-Time SalariedChicago, IL, US  Position Summary:We are seeking a Business Analyst to provide analysis support for software development projects for various business areas globally including Reporting, Trading, Operations, Risk and Compliance.  The job will include analysis of business to facilitate the drafting of functional specifications. The role will require communication with business managers and system users, internal development teams and external vendors.  Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Conduct interviews with project requestor and other stakeholders to fully understand project requirementsGather, analyze, document, and review project proposals and business requirements with business managers and staffCreate written functional specifications and review business requirements and specifications with development teams.Author written examples of business flows or transactions for complex requirementsScope projects, create project plans and work with developers to create work estimates and schedulesReview and obtain requirements signoff from all stakeholdersOrganize meetings to track project status, manage deadlines and work with IT to meet requirements and to anticipate ways to eliminate any obstaclesAssist in development of testing plans and scriptsHelp, plan and participate in system testing and facilitate UAT Qualifications / Skills Required:Candidate should have a demonstrated aptitude and interest in technology and business, strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills. Bachelor’s Degree - Information Systems (IS) or software related technology is preferredExceptional written and verbal skillsAbility to analyze and document current state processes and future state requirementsAbility to translate business requirements to a clear and logical functional specification that is coherent to IT developers and QA groupsFamiliarity with key concepts of the business analyst roles in an organization and standard methods employed by business analystsA can do attitude and strong work ethic Skills Desired:Ideally, the candidate should have a general sense of the trading, clearing cycle, risk and regulatory backdrop in the brokerage industryA general understanding of database technologiesGood interpersonal skills with a focus on internal client serviceAble to produce clear system process and workflow diagramsFamiliarity of various system development life cycle methodologiesSelf-starter who can work independently or in a team It is the policy of R.J.
