Job Title: Maths Teacher – Long Term Supply (Thurrock)

Location: Thurrock, Essex

Salary: £140–£210 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time, long-term supply with potential permanent opportunity

Start Date: October Half Term 2025

The Role

Local Education are working with a secondary school in Thurrock who are seeking a Maths Teacher to join them after October half term. This is a long-term supply role with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

You will be teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to support GCSE preparation and potentially A-Level. The school are looking for a teacher who can inspire pupils, deliver engaging lessons, and contribute positively to the department.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare and deliver Maths lessons across KS3–KS4 (and KS5 if required)

• Marking, assessment and feedback in line with school policy

• Manage behaviour and create a positive classroom environment

• Support pupil progress and achievement

 

Requirements:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent

• Experience teaching Maths in UK secondary schools

• Strong subject knowledge and ability to raise attainment

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
