Job Summary

Central Plains Steel, a division of Feralloy, is seeking a hands-on Production Team Lead to support coil line operations. This is a working leadership role responsible for guiding the team, maintaining workflow, and ensuring production, safety, and quality standards are met.

Function in the Job

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

• Lead daily production operations and coordinate workflow to meet demand
• Monitor line performance and drive process improvements
• Ensure safety standards and company policies are consistently followed
• Train, coach, and support team members
• Oversee work orders, production schedules, and documentation accuracy
• Perform quality checks and ensure materials meet specifications
• Troubleshoot operational or equipment issues and partner with maintenance as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment (5S)

 

 

Required Skills

• Valid driver’s license
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, or material handling
• Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in varying temperatures
• Basic math, measurement, and computer skills
• Strong communication and ability to lead a team effectively

Preferred:

• Warehouse or metals industry experience
• High School Diploma or GED

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PMPay: $18–$22/hr (DOE) + $5 shift differential
